Phoenix is all about their steakhouses, so the streets are practically lined with a number of great places to enjoy a big slab of meat, but where can an apartment-ite go if he's in the mood for steak down in the real Southern style of the old ranch hands? No place does up ranch-style steaks quite as well as Bill Johnson's Big Apple. Named after famous shock jock radio personality Bill Johnson, BJ's cooks steaks, chops and other Southern favorites just like they used to back in the old cowboy days. The atmosphere just screams with Southern charm, and you're sure to met with traditional hospitality the South's famous for. When coming to Bill Johnson's, make sure to you come with a full stomach, because this is one restaurant that doesn't do small servings. Large cuts of meat, saucy barbecue, and even delicious soups and salads are the flavor of the week here, and you're not likely to go away hungry. This is kind of cooking your mama used to make, with heaping helpings of sides, and everything cooked fresh from scratch, from the country breakfasts to their USDA prime steaks. If you're looking for a taste of what real Southern cooking is all about, step right up. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, you'll find a meal that's just right for you. Breakfast items include traditional favorites like steak and eggs, including your choice of sirloin, new york strip, or chicken fried steak, as well as pork-chops or ham steak, as well as hot cakes and French toast. You can also choose from one of their delicious omelettes, or one of their breakfast specials. When it comes time for lunch or dinner, there are a number of fantastic options to choose from. you can start your meal with boneless buffalo bites, potato skins, onion rings, or fried zucchini, or a combination plate that comes with rings, zucchini, skins, chicken bites and popcorn chicken. You can also try their barbecue, including plates with their smoked brisket, chicken, ribs, or a combo or ribs and chicken. They also have delicious meal deals, including chicken fried steak, apple-spiced pork loin, and chicken-fried chicken, as well as many delicious sandwiches and seafood options, or one of their delicious, USDA prime steaks. Southern food is a staple in the Phoenix food scene, so why not go with the best.
