One of top type of restaurants around the Southwest is the steakhouse, and so of course Phoenix has its fair share, but apartment-ites should know that no place holds so many happy memories, or have satisfied so many customers, as Durant's, a Phoenix institution since 1955. If you're a steak lover, or enjoy a good wine, then you can do little better than Durant's, where all the hippest Phoenix diners have been coming for ages. Lunch or dinner, you'll have your choice of delectable dishes, from desserts, to appetizers, to their juicy, fresh steaks cooked exactly to order. For the dinner crowd, start your evening out with some fresh spinach-artichoke dip, oysters Rockefeller, or sauteed chicken livers, or try one of their delicious salads. Of course, their steaks are the main draw here, and they every cut and style you could think of, including New York strip, filet mignon, delmonico, sirloin, and one gigantic, 48-ounce porterhouse. You can also try their prime rib, in eight-, twelve-, or sixteen-ounces. If you're not in the mood for steak, you can try one of their fantastic seafood options, inlcuding pan-seared salmon filet, fried Idaho rainbow trout, coconut shrimp, mesquite-broiled shrimp, or mesquite-broiled scallops, or their delectable eight-ounce Australian lobster tail. For those a bit more adventurous, try one of their fantastic liver options, including sauteed calf's liver with bacon and onions or sauteed chicken livers. There are also a number of chicken options, such as chicken Marsala and chicken cordon bleu. For those looking for the piece de resistance, try their combination of Australian lobster with filet mignon, broiled shrimp and filet mignon, or, for those with a big appetite, two Australian lobster tails with their huge 48-ounce porterhouse. Steakhouses are a dime a dozen in the Phoenix area, so when it comes time to make your choice, make the right one. Phoenix residents across the city come to have their meals at Durant's, and so should you apartment-ites.
