Nestled in a quiet part of the Bolivar Peninsula, the Red Mermaid Retreat offers spectacular beach views and is just a short walk to the beach. The street block contains only four homes, providing a peaceful environment. A short drive south takes you to Crystal Beach, where you can find shops, a grocery store, and restaurants, making this location one of the most popular in Crystal Beach. Maximum occupancy is 10 people, with any additional guests requiring pre-approval. Grilling is only allowed on the patio area downstairs, as grilling on the deck is prohibited by Galveston County ordinance. Mosquitoes can be a nuisance, so bringing bug spray is recommended. Please rinse off sand in the outdoor shower or with available water hoses, and leave sandy shoes on the deck by the front door. Avoid flushing inappropriate items down the toilet or pouring grease down the drains to prevent damage to the septic system. Parking is restricted to the concrete driveway, and care should be taken not to hit the pilings. Any accidental damage should be reported immediately for repair or replacement, with costs potentially incurred for damage due to malicious or careless behavior. Doors and windows should be locked upon departure, and no refunds will be given for lost days if guests are asked to leave due to irresponsible behavior.
