As a hand-built house in the country, expect to see wildlife such as deer, skunks, beavers, and snakes. You may also encounter wasp nests and hear the train a couple of times. Please refrain from hunting or shooting guns on the property. Kayaks should be returned to their original location after use, and fishing gear must be cared for and returned. Check the Bell County website regarding burn bans before having campfires, as it is Texas. The water is deep well water that is filtered and oxidized, which may cause it to appear cloudy with air for a few moments after coming out of the faucet; this is normal. The 12-foot swim spa is deep and requires constant supervision of children. Please rinse off before transitioning from the river to the spa and try to keep sandy feet out. The spa can be heated up to 104°F and as low as 90°F, but it does not cool off quickly in the summer; let us know if you prefer it in the 90s.
