We used the downstairs studio unit for a home office, a private space for guests, and we also rented it out from time to time. The downstairs studio is also a great retreat for teenage children or those with multi-generational living arrangements. The house has lots of natural light from the large windows in the living room, dining room, and kitchen, which overlook a beautiful backyard canyon with multiple patios. It features hardwood floors, classic archways, an updated open-concept, remodeled kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a Smart thermostat, fresh paint, and newer, energy-efficient AC and central heating. All appliances, including the HVAC, are less than 2 years old. Large windows overlook the backyard, which features an abundance of trees, allowing natural light to flood in and creating a sense of calm throughout the home. The backyard is designed for relaxing in nature and is also a great area for entertaining, featuring tiered patios, a fire pit, and a huge lot. We love listening to the owl hoot nightly and sleeping with the windows open for a fresh, gentle breeze. Our son grew up exploring the backyard canyon, and we feel this home is truly a magical place to live. Located minutes from cafes, some fantastic restaurants, grocery stores, Trader Joes, SDSU, and major freeways, this home also benefits from El Cerrito's strong sense of community, which is known for its neighborhood 4th of July parades, block parties, Halloween decorating contests, and monthly neighborhood happy hours.
