This is my first time renting, I've always owned my home. I told management about not knowing anything about renting. I know feel that was a big mistake. I learned from living here the past 9 months that I should have done more research on the rentals in the area and about renting all together. I lost my house, had 5 days to move out. I feel like I've been taken full advantage of. Where and whom should I talk or contact to help figure out if I can break my lease, etc. Much Thanks! MeeshaLin

Renters do have rights and there are ways of dealing with unscrupulous leasors. Contact an attorney or a legal aid society for help on braking your lease. Also, may landlords will make addendums to the lease if you explain your situation. Check that first.

Because it's a legal binding contract, your best bet when dealing with a lease is to contact an attorney for legal advice. They should be able to tell you where you stand and if you have any type of claim.
