Good Apartment, Terrible Manager

The property is pretty nice for student apartments, the location is close to campus, and security has really been upgraded over the past few years. I would not live here again simply because the property manager is the absolute worst. She is constantly rude and says she can't do anything about issues when she can. You are required to have property insurance, which is standard, but they basically force you into using theirs which is twice the cost because they take months to approve it.

Probably the best apartment in the area. the main issue is the walls are thin which the staff can't fix so invest in a white noise machine. Also kind of smells of weed in the hallways. but otherwise good, its kind of like living in a really clean best western.

The manger is horrible. She doesn't know how to deal with residents. She enters the apartment without permission and ask mantaince to enter the unit without permission. They act stupidly and childish. This place is not worth the money because you can not relax the train noise is going to give you headache. The apartments are okay but not worth the price and the bedrooms are crazy small. The reason to avoid this place however is the bad service. If you are looking to be matched with a roommate you can fill out the roommate form stating your interests and what you are looking for in a roommate but it won't matter, they pair you up with whoever signs up next and tell you they thought you would be a perfect match. names because they are great but there are a few however that are awful, they act like you are always inconveniencing them and appear as if the last thing they want to do is help. The worst is the blonde one with the bad haircut, just avoid her. When I applied for the lease I gave them all of my information and then again when I signed, but when I was told to come get my key and parking pass they said they couldn't give them to me because I hadn't given them my birthday even though I did twice and therefore hadn't done my background check. It's a nice place but you have to be willing to put up with the bad service.

This apartment complex is not worth the location or the cost. I've had a lot of issues since moving here and majority of it has to do with the poor structure of the building and the noise.
1. Yes, you are close to campus and "okay" food but also keep in mind the proximity to the train station. You will hear the train honking at all hours through the night and it is a big pain.
2. The building is poorly constructed thus the walls are very thin. You can hear everything from outside and all the ...
surrounding neighbors. The SIU bell tower goes off every 15 minutes. You can hear all the conversation and drunken altercations from the parking lot. Another thing about out side noise is that 3-4 times a week the trash truck comes to pick up the dumpster in the back of the building and in the shipping center across the street. This occurs between the hours of 4:00am - 6:00pm and it will wake you up.
3. On top of all the noise you hear from outside the building you will also hear everything going on in the hall way, in your neighbors room, and in the apartment above you. There has been multiple problems of people dancing in their apartment and causing the apartments underneath them to shake.
4. Noise complaints are ignored. Do not trust their no noise after 10:00pm policy. Not only is it poorly enforced but majority of the student population lack common sense to realize people are sleeping at 4:00am. You can call security multiple times but 30 minutes after the party is "shut down" it will start all over again.
5. WEED! You will smell weed everywhere. Its one thing if its in the hall way or elevator but when the smell starts coming through your vents then it gets very annoying. If you complain about your apartment smelling their response will be, "We take illicit drug use seriously. We work strongly with the Carbondale police department. We've narrowed it down to three apartments." You can smell weed form majority of the apartment. To each their own but once my stuff starts smelling then it became an issue.

I recently moved into these brand new apartments and I am not happy to say the least. When I initially took a tour of their "model" in the office, it seemed to be spacious and well worth the high price they are asking for. It is a good thing I am not afraid of small compact places, because I'm sitting here in my room and I feel like I am in a tiny prison cell. The furnishings are brand new, but cheaply made and the appliances are already not working. Parking is a joke and you have to pay extra ...

They told us about all these great stores and food shops downstairs, but it is still empty spots. If you add on the fact that you do not have a private bathroom for the amount of rent you pay this place is ridiculous. If it wasn't for the location of these apartments I would have never signed a lease here. I'm in the process of trying to get out of my lease and live somewhere else.
