March 13, 2026 - Review from Apartments.comOur experience during the application and leasing process was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. We applied for a 2-bedroom apartment at a specific advertised price. The property manager, Cathy, told us she would be able to hold that apartment for us until our move-in date. Based on that information, we moved forward and signed the lease agreement for the apartment we were told we would be receiving. After signing the lease, we did not receive any communication for approximately three ...months. When we eventually followed up, we were informed that our apartment number had been changed without any prior notice. In addition, the rental price was changed from what we originally agreed to in the lease. When we called to ask for clarification about these changes, Cathy spoke to us in a very unprofessional manner and raised her voice during the conversation. Rather than addressing the issue or explaining why the changes were made after the lease was signed, she placed the blame on us. We entered the agreement in good faith based on the information provided to us and the lease we signed. Having major details changed without communication was frustrating and concerning. Based on this experience alone, it raises questions about how communication and professionalism might be handled for residents in the future.Read More

July 14, 2025 - Review from Apartments.comUnfortunately, I cannot recommend this community for several reasons. Before move-in, I requested wood flooring instead of carpet due to having a dog. The leasing office agreed, but when I arrived on move-in day, the apartment was still fully carpeted. They did install the wood floors the next day, but the vendors started late, forcing my movers to sit around and wait. Not a great start. Once moved in, I quickly noticed how poorly the community was maintained: overgrown grass, ant hills ...everywhere, trash cans overflowing, dog poop everywhere, and empty pet waste stations. Even the gym was consistently dirty. The dog park’s pet wash station, which was highlighted during my tour, was broken nearly the entire time I lived there. I gave up checking after multiple failed attempts to use it. Inside the unit, we dealt with one issue after another: a leak under the sink the very first night damaged some of my belongings, the A/C broke down multiple times, and one of the stove burners kept going out. When we requested replacement drip pans (since the ones provided were in bad condition and couldn’t be cleaned), we were told no because they were “still usable.” Ironically, we were charged for them after moving out. The most distressing part of our stay was our upstairs neighbors. Two adults, a toddler, and a newborn lived above us, and the adults frequently had loud domestic disputes bad enough that we had to call the police multiple times. On top of that, the toddler was allowed to run wild at all hours. Jumping off furniture, throwing things, running, and making constant noise. We reported the situation to the office several times. Their only “solution” was for us to sign a whole new lease and go through the stress of moving all our stuff to a different unit, with only a few months left on our current lease. Needless to say, we declined. When we did decline, they told us that they couldn’t tell us how, but to trust they were taking control of it. Nothing ever got better. The front office also had constant turnover. It felt like there were new leasing agents every time I walked in, which made communication inconsistent. The dog stations are never stocked and are falling apart. There are “doggie bombs” everywhere and it smells like it. If you have dogs, this is a major health concern. And if you don’t have dogs, this is a major health concern. The water was turned off for months in the dog park! And now the dog wash is broken. So if you’re reading their list of amenities ...and the dog wash is a perk to you, not a single resident has been able to use it in 6 months. The gym is not only filthy but they have not restocked sanitary wipes in months, regardless of me repeatedly asking. It’s getting disgusting. They mark service requests as complete when they haven’t even looked at, let alone serviced what was requested. Like my dryer, because that could never be potentially hazardous, right? Don’t even get me started on the gates or the weird crime rate that’s gone up. A ring doorbell is your friend here. I LOVED living in this complex, I mean this sincerely. Used to recommend this place to anyone looking in the area, now I hesitate. As of late I find myself frustrated in my own home. Even after speaking with the office it seems like this is above their heads as most of these concerns are supposed to be regulated by their maintenance team. This place has potential if they could get all of their ducks in row, but as of now every week they are slipping further and further from the “luxury apartment” life style they advertise, be sure to keep that in mind before signing a “luxury apartment” lease. March 27, 2021 - Review from Apartments.comI am so fed up with the management at this place! This is one of the worst managed properties I had lived in 16 years! When I moved in my dishwasher was broken, It took 3 months to put the new one in. My washer was leaking when I started it for the first time and flooded the kitchen. Guy who came to install blinds left screws and nails on my bed and on the floor and damaged my curtains. We are paying a fee for amenities which we cannot use because they are only open during the office hours so in ...the summertime pool and gym were closed on Sundays and every day at 6pm. I work a full-time job and cannot use these amenities within these specific time frames. There supposed to be the internet in the lobby/gym however it doesn't work. When I addressed this issue, I was told that this is a courtesy. So another scam. It supposed to be a dog friendly community and we are required to pick up after our pets yet, the pet stations are usually overflowing and there are no bags. The gym just got closed again due to damage caused by the freeze and broken pipes, yet nobody bothered to let us know. And again, we are still paying for it! Geralyn doesn't care at all about us as a community. Several of us brought to her attention issues at the dog park like broken water fountain which was 4 months ago and the lightbulb which again was probably 5 months ago. Still haven't been fixed. There is an aggressive dog on property which a lot of neighbors reported to her the issues we had and yet she still hasn't done anything about it. Our friend's house was flooded during the freeze. Geralyn told her to move out even though she already has paid her rent and signed a lease. So this single mother is forced to live in the damaged apartment with holes in the walls and black mold growing everywhere. Geralyn has not lifted a finger to make repairs in her unit. There are other 2 bedrooms available which she could move our friend to, but instead she took all of them of the availability list. But the office and gym get a renovation right away. I can keep going, this list is long. The people here are great and stick together and help each other out. But the management should be changed immediately! When I tried to post a message on the community website it wasn’t approved by a manager. I don’t know what is the point of this message board when management only picks what fits them best and block others. We are paying a lot of money for this apartments and we do not get the service we deserve.Read More

February 10, 2020 - Review from Apartments.comI’ve lived at the Marquis at Clear Lake for over 2 years now. The first year was really wonderful. Since the end of summer 2019, it’s been pretty awful. The Marquis at Clear Lake has valet trash services and my neighbors across the hall have been taking gross advantage of it. They constantly and consistently put leaking, smelly, disgusting trash outside of their front door...which means outside of my front door as well. Their garbage leaks all over the hallway and stains the flooring. It attracts ...flies, roaches and animals. I have frequently asked the office for help going back to July 2019. All they have done was have the floor power washed. Two days later, another leaking garbage bag is outside in its place. I have spoken to the women in the office, the property manager and also the regional manager of the company. This incredibly unsanitary issue keeps happening again and again...and no one seems to want to help me with it.Read More
