Am I 40 years of living? I’ve never been so disappointed.
May 8, 2025 - Review from Apartments.comI've been a resident here for about 10 months and I received an email asking if I wanted to renew my contract or my lease, before doing so I wanted to have a conversation with the Office. Long story short, I said before I renew my contract or lease I would like to discuss some concerns. She asked me to articulated it in an email which I will however, she then asked me to explain to her in detail the problems that I had, once I started detailing the problems that I have and why I was concerned ...the lady then hung up on me. I’m a resident here. Your job is to take our complaints regardless if you want to hear it or not, and you expect me to spend over $20,000 a year here when you ask me to voice my concerns and then you hang up on me because it’s the end of your shift? Give me a break. This place is a joke and I’m taking this to the highest of the highest level, if you wanna live here take a look at what you’re about to get yourself into. The car washing port doesn’t work efficiently. I mentioned that and the lady got an attitude with me asking me to put in a request for maintenance. Meanwhile, that vacuum cleaner hasn’t been operational since I’ve lived here. They know it I’ve told them before I don’t understand what kind of common sense you have to have to just fix it My daughter and I jumped in the pool on a Monday and they just shocked the pool. We didn’t know that there was no sign up, although it does say it as a precaution on the letters and all the paperwork that I received however I must’ve missed it. My point here is that the pool man watched my daughter and I jump into the pool completely and then the manager came out a half an hour later explaining to us that the pool is closed on Mondays, no big deal. I just wish the pool man would’ve said something. The entire place is completely disgusting besides the front office. The front office is nice and clean, but the rest of the facility is absolutely gross. Come here walk around and see for yourself. The tennis court has weeds growing in it the basketball backboard was left on the grass for months and months they saw it. They just didn’t feel like they needed to pick it up and throw it away. The the gate is always broken however, obviously we cannot control everyone’s actions, but they leave it broken for a very long time. it was dark in my hallway area because they decided to fix the light after months of it being down this place is a joke. come see for yourself.Read MoreProperty Manager Responded

The property staff are a joke and don't care about residents. You can't find a contact method of the property company to send complaints too. Even BBB doesn't have a listing for them. This place may have been luxury 20 years ago, but not anymore.

The staff is very attentive to your requests and truly care about the residents. The maintenance staff is exceptional any issue that may need repair is normally addressed the same day. This is a gated complex that is so convenient to everything. Colonial Williamsburg is minutes away, great restaurants and shopping within a 4 mile radius. Great place to call home!

It was beautiful, safe, and quiet. The staff here are caring and attentive. Maintenance requests are always addressed promptly, and I had very few problems beyond routine care. I never had any problem parking near my apartment, and the complex is very generous with visitor parking passes, if you need one. The amenities are well-kept, and the complex is ...very dog-friendly. The leasing staff are always happy to help you with any request, and things like lease renewal and negotiation are quick and easy. If you need to find a place to live in Williamsburg, I cannot recommend Spotswood any higher.Read More

From the second you call to learn more about Spotswood Commons, to the second you sign your lease agreement, you are treated with respect, kindness, and such warmth from the wonderful management team. Becky and Amy are AMAZING and it is clear that they love what they do. When I was meeting with Becky to finalize my move-in paperwork one day, she actually got a call ...from a former resident who was looking to move BACK to Spotswood Commons since they were returning to the Williamsburg area. I think that speaks volumes! During my tour of a one bedroom unit, I was blown away by how clean and perfectly maintained the unit, building, and grounds were. They really take pride in making sure that the community is well taken care of. Maintenance is always available, the amenities are fantastic, and the price (especially for what you get!) is such a great value. Their community is also wonderfully dog friendly with a beautifully landscaped "bark park" and tons of grassy areas throughout the neighborhood for nice long walks. I have nothing but the best to say about this community. I'm sad at the thought that I will ever have to leave if/when I move out of Williamsburg!Read More

April 5, 2016 - Review from Apartments.comMy wife, 2 year old and myself stayed at Spotswood from July of 15 till April of 16. This complex is 5 min. from anything you could ever want to be close to. My wife is currently paralyzed, not only did they add additional handicap parking, they put in front loader W/D as well as replaced the back buttons on the stove with buttons on the front. The managers are over the top friendly and welcoming. I never had a complaint that went unresolved. We only left due to our house being completed. ...The rates are great for what you get. Very nice pool and workout room as well. I can not give this complex a higher rating. If I ever need an apartment in the future Spotswood will be the first place I look!Read More

The gym and clubhouse are always very clean and well taken care of. We use the gym multiple times a week and everything is always in place and working perfectly. The grounds are well kept. We have a small dog and love taking walks every night after dinner around the complex. It's peaceful, quiet and a safe neighborhood. The pool area is gorgeous with comfy chairs and umbrellas. There is a stone ...built-in bbq pit that we use all the time. The staff and maintenance are wonderful, always prompt and I have only had to utilize them once. The apartments are very well taken care of. It feels brand new when you move in and I have lived on a third floor and a first floor here. They are both spectacular. The lay outs are wonderful, they really allow you to use the space you have. The carpets are clean, the walls are freshly painted, the kitchen is kept up, new countertops, the lighting is all new, the bathrooms are clean, washer and dryer are included in every laundry room of each apartment and they are great. The apartments smell clean and fresh and all of the appliances work properly. The exception is that there is not a built-in microwave, so you will need to have your own. There is built-in storage and a nice size patio/balcony. There is always ample parking. I love living here. Even when my husband is away on duty, he is military, I feel safe and secure in this complex. We have lived here for 2 years and will be here for one more before we are relocated.
