June 28, 2026 - Review from Apartments.comLiving in this apartment has been genuine hell on earth. I do not have complaints about the look or aesthetic of the complex. It’s old but rustic, and some apartments have updated appliances. The price is also very cheap, but there is a reason. For the first 6 months of our lease (which was from May to October), we had absolutely no air conditioning. After months of making complaints, going to the front office, and flagging down maintenance workers, I hired a lawyer and called the health ...department. Only then did I get any kind of productive response from BH. Once our air conditioner was fixed, it leaked onto our water heater, and then we had no hot water for 4 months. The same process of calling the health department was once again the only method that gained me a response. We are moving out in 2 weeks. Last week, our “brand new” air conditioner just broke again. So just to re-cap, for over half of our lease we had no working air conditioning, and then no hot water, and not once was a pro-rated rent offered. We have been forced to pay this company full price, despite having appliances that do not work. The neighbors are extremely inconsiderate. Trash is thrown in the breezeways, creating a constant stink because the valet garage services are inconsistent at best. Don’t worry though, if you’re looking for a nice place to cool down from all of that, you can always go spend some time at one of The Crossing’s very own pools! Just know that they will be closed for 3 quarters of the summer, and as soon as they open, they will be closed again due to someone creating a scene that requires cleanup. Please please PLEASE LISTEN TO ME AND DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. I promise you can find somewhere more affordable that does not straight up steal from you.Read More
The crossing apartments off Interstate 29 and Barry Road
August 4, 2025 - Review from Apartments.comThis is a huge apartment complex aging in some ways. Phone jacks are still present in the apartments. Rent will have to be lower to compete with newer apartments in this area. Too many add-ons ontop of the rent. Parking space is lacking, and dogs are free to roam and litter the lawn with owners getting away with impunity. Overall, not a bad place to live, good location, close to schools, shopping, restaurants and medical facilities. July 11, 2021 - Review from Apartments.comRent is very high for small spaces that are old and outdated. Very high energy bills. Paint is peeling off the exterior doors and outside ceilings; breezeways are filthy and landscaping is mud, weeds and dead bushes. There have been two shootings here in the last 3-4 months. I don't feel safe here.

I love the spacious walk-in closets! Ive never had an issue with loud noises from other tenants. Its affordable living compared to other apartments in the area.

February 16, 2021 - Review from Apartments.comMy fiancé and I just moved out of this place after living here in two apartments over the last two years. The first apartment was not updated. Although I am unable to explain why due to rules, the experience at this apartment was extremely horrible. We moved to a more updated apartment with cheap vinyl flooring. They charge for smart rent and valet trash in addition to your rent so be aware. The dog park (also very small) was unappealing in ways I also cannot explain due to rules on here. ...Neighbors were loud and vehicular theft crime was high. If we ever needed assistance, management never answered their phones so my fiancé would have to go to the office. When he went, he was never greeted kindly from the front office staff as they never believed he was a resident needing assistance. We also left because they tried to charge us an extra $30 in rent for the same apartment. They charge for carpet cleaning if you do not do it yourself. They also tried to charge us an excessive amount to repair one piece of vinyl floor to which I found a sample of it for $1 online. Therefore, the reasons we left were: management was disrespectful, dog waste was never under control, auto theft in the area, loud neighbors, and their attempt to charge outrageous prices for a cheaply made apartment.Read More

February 8, 2021 - Review from Apartments.comJeremy S is the person who came up the last 2 xs and was he was amazing. He was extremely fast and the work was done great. We have lived at this complex for 15 years & this is the best that the maintenance group has ever been. Normally it takes weeks to get something fixed & its normally not fixed great. This guy fixed things that we have had multiple issues with & they just band aid fix it & this guy fixed it correctly. Thank you for getting better maintenance people.
