  • Bad but new management seems better

    PROS: 1. big rooms 2. comfortable beds 3. bathroom is private 4.huge closet (in most rooms) 5. maintenance is typically quick 6. walk to UTA is pretty short but can be longer if classes are on the other side of campus. 15 mins to the Commons. 10-15 to the library 7. recent new management seems to care a lot more about residents CONS: 1. the doors have giant cracks under them- you an hear everything 2. the clubhouse, gym, and pool were all closed from january to about may/june. stuff still does ...
    not work at gym. its june and the pool is not open- they said they would open end of apirl/early may. so what am i paying for if nothing works? 3. the parking garage is on Benge not Mitchell- hard to get to campus 4. the hallways smell horrible (trash, weed, food stink, and body odor) hot and muggy in the summer 5. crack in my window that was there months before I moved in at start of August-didnt get fixed until mid May. They complete my requests w/o doing anything. went to the front desk to ask and they told me not to submit any more and took over a month. the whole process took 2 minutes. 6. the randomized roommates should be put together by common needs. EX cleanliness, quiet time, having bfs stay over all the time, age, boundaries and temperature/budget. my experience would be better if we could be more similar. 7. if you have a question, they will yes you out the door and not do anything. make you feel like you are bugging them in the office 8. the parking garage gate was broken from Aug- mid March and breaks down very often so there's a lot of random people parking who don't live there 9. the doors to get into the building are never locked. they say they lock but they don't even close. it's a HUGE safety thing. with that- there are always random people hanging out in the hallways and parking garage drinking 10. i dont know how they can manage this but they do not care if more people are in the apartment than on the lease. my roomate had friends stay in an extra room for months at a time and she never paid rent or utilities but wasted the most energy. Management found out about it but did nothing.

  • Very Bad Management, Not Reliable

    Total mess and mismanagement. I have booked and signed lease for my son for 2nd floor made all payment and yesterday they have asked me to change it to 5th floor. It’s really hard to reach out to the concerned. They do not pick phone. It’s a mess.

  • Sorry Management

    To be 100% honest the perks and the price are very nice but the management is terrible. The place is filthy the trash situation results in an infestation of flies and miscellaneous bugs. The hallways and stairs are filthy and never gets cleaned. Once a week you will be woken up and disturbed for hours on end of the fire alarm going off nonstop, because the staff does not care to fix the issue despite Numerous requests. Work orders take weeks to months to get answered if answered at all. Would not ...

    Ive been living at 848 Mitchell for over a year and have seen nothing but improvements! The complex is very communicative to the residents and the many events they throw are very well put together and have a good turn out which makes it easy to meet people. The inside of the apartments are also very nice and i can rarely hear my neighbors!!

  • absolutely not

    I’ve stayed here since opening and there has been issue after issue. Poor construction, quick and cheap and it’s quite apparent. The AC in the 2 bedroom is located above my bathtub and is, constantly dripping after 5 work orders and I can’t sit in the tub due to orange water stains and dirty dripping water falling on me. Advertises a pet park but it’s really a 30x20 patch of grass ALL dogs are supposed to use to go to the bathroom. I’ve been here 2 years and still have issues with workers putting ...
    mail in the wrong boxes and I’ve received mail from other tenants as well. No one ever answers the phone here and they’re charging way too much for rent for the amenities provided that aren’t accessible/available most of the time. Elevators are frequently broken so if you have a disability or injury, this is not a reliable place to be. People on the front office often are unaware of general procedures and rude when you ask questions for understanding because they don’t know the answers to them. Let’s also not forget the abundance of paid/reserved parking spaces and only 15 available visitors parking spaces for 5 floors worth of tenants. I wish I saw the read flags before I renewed for this year. They take advantage of college students who don’t know ins and outs of apartment hunting. Sounds like a good deal up front but please don’t fall for it.

  • Avoid This Place!!!

    Avoid it seriously! Be aware there are only 15 Visitor parking spots which are never available! Even the general parking is limited because everyone pays for a reserved parking spot to guarantee they get a spot to park in. The rooms are very small and not to mention you have a 50/50 chance of getting a roommate you actually like. Look elsewhere seriously!

  • The ABSOLUTE WORST place to live.

    The hallways smell like trash. The floors are covered in dog pee or poop a lot of the time. Elevators break down often so if you live in the fifth floor on the opposite side of the building like I did, have fun walking up and down the stairs. And I did that multiple times a day bc I have a dog. The office people are rude. Custodial staff is nice. The parking garage was very poorly designed. I hated living here. Oh and once you sign your lease there is no way out of it. They told me I had to pay ...
    for every month I had left instead of the normal lease breaking fee most apartments have. I hated this place! This place is so over priced and not worth it. The apartments are small but nice looking. The beds are uncomfortable like most furnished apartments are. Do yourself a favor and pick anywhere but here. Idk how they have 5 stars if all these reviews are terrible.

  • Do not live here.

    Whatever you do, do not sign here if you are a college student. They make it seem like a fun college apartments to live in but it's not. Once you sign that lease they do not care at all about you being comfortable. Me and my roommate renewed our lease and they openly admitted that they didn't match our preferences when putting a new roommate in our apartment "because sometimes they just can't" we spoke with the girl they are putting in our apartment she has been begging to get out of her lease ...
    because she just had a baby and they won't let her. They told her that her only option is to move the baby in with her and me and my roommate. We are two college students, 20 years old who like to have fun. We are not in anyway prepared to live with a new born baby. It's nothing against the girl but that's completely not fair of 848 to put is in that situation. They said there's nothing they can do about it. So yeah don't live here. Not if you want a fun college experience.

  • The Worst place to live at on UTA campus

    The worst place EVER on UTA campus to live at. If I could give it a 0 star I would. The whole place is like a dumpster. Trash EVERYWHERE. The floor and hallway is covered in filth and trash stain/juice dragged across the hallway. ALL hallways of all floors smell straight up like garbage that’s been left there for weeks. The smell is indescribable, just dirty and filthy everywhere. The pool is trash, always have random people and big parties trashing the whole pool and fights break out all the ...
    time and there was even a blood trail across the hall and broken window/shattered glass. A hazard that was not taken care of. Along with the big parties and fights breaking out, there have also been pranks pulling fire alarms and spray fire extinguishers EVERYWHERE in the hallways at 3-4AM, drug dealers, thieves breaking into cars and stealing things,again, you do not want this environment to be your campus life. Management is super poor and does not know anything of customer service. They TOWE their own residents’ cars (even with parking stickers) and do not care about you. Just super disgusting in so many ways and I wholeheartedly DO NOT recommend living here.

    DO NOT RENT HERE! At first this place seemed truly amazing, everything is included, the pool is nice, and there's a gym. But everything is NOT included you will be billed for utilities when you go over their cap and it will happen. Then they will place you with a roommate that can be extremely destructive to property and threatening to you and using drugs and when you call to complain and have something done about it they will do NOTHING. Then they will charge YOU in full price for damages that ...
    your roommate did and you called and emailed about before either of you moved out. And when you email them to contest not only the charges for damages done by your roommate but also to ask why your entire deposit and MORE was charged on a pretty well cleaned apartment they will tell you that they will not negotiate with you or change any charges. Management is terrible but the front office staff are nice. I would highly recommend you never live here.

  • If you're a quiet person... Don't even bother.

    I just moved in and have a few roommate... Everyone in the apartment parties every weekend, and every apartment around me parties. I'm currently studying for a prestigious degree, and require peace and quiet. I get distracted easily and cannot always go down to the study center, which is across from the Rec room with a very loud pool table. Unfortunately, I'm locked into my lease until July 2020. My grades have suffered already and I haven't even been here a full month.
