I have been living at Brookdale Lakes for 7 years now. The only reason I’m leaving is I am relocating to a different state.
The apartment homes:
You’re surely to find a floor plan that works for you with 8 to choose from. I chose one with an attached garage and what a life changer! Great for inclement weather conditions, carrying in groceries, and for extra storage.
The way the floor plans are arranged provides comfortable living. The flow from space to space is perfect with open space from
...kitchen/dining/living.
I needed to have washer and dryer in unit, which all of these apartments have.
Most have some sort of view - either tree lined or of the many ponds. The wildlife watching around the complex is awesome!
Lots of natural light with all windows and doors.
I did use the fireplace (and maintenance did the upkeep with chimney sweeping) and the giant tub for relaxing. Watching the wildlife in the the pond from the patio was a favorite pastime as well.
It’s quiet! I have NEVER heard side-to-side apartment noise, only walking above me (which is expected when living on the first floor).
The community:
Small feel with only 200 apartments. Easy to meet people when out walking or at the club house. It’s a quiet neighborhood and Brookdale is a top-notch location in Naperville. I have always felt safe. There is a sense of community here.
Well maintained grounds. Landscaping, lawn care, snow removal have all been great. Never any issues with a Chicagoland winter.
Easy access to interstate-88 and down town Naperville. Also all of the stores, shopping, grocery, etc your heart could desire down Route 59.
A diverse community of people. Young adult singles to families.
Pet friendly with plenty of waste stations throughout the property. Also, a perfect sized dog park. Rarely noticed waste that wasn’t picked up.
The club house will fulfill all your needs. You can even rent it out for parties if you would like. The fitness center, pool, hot tub, business center, gathering room, kitchen... it’s a home away from home.
The maintenance staff are quick and attentive. I never had any major issues, but even minor repairs were done within 24 hours.
The office staff have always been friendly, helpful, and respectful. There has been a lot of staff turn over in my 7 years, but I have never had any issue with any of the employees. With open communication by phone or email I have always been met with kindness.
