Current resident. Warning to people with allergies or sensitivities, this place is bad news. The apartments were built in the 60s. The mold is killing us.
My wife and I moved in March 2024, this is our first apartment. The staff here are kind, but not able to help.
These apartments are old, and leaking bad. Even before the hurricane we were dealing with water leaks, and now the whole place constantly smells like mold.
My wife and I try our best to clean every surface, but water seeps in from
...the roof and walls each time it rains. The complex is helpful by sending us a dehumidifier every few weeks, but the problem is too large for a dehumidifier to fix.
The AC system is also full of mold, so are the ducts. I wish we had checked better before moving in. There is a single AC vent for the entire kitchen/living area. There is no air exhaust fan in the bathroom.
The roof has been “repaired” several times since we’ve been here but the water continues to flow into our apartment at Indian River Shores each time it rains. Our neighbors ceiling leaked in, and water covered the girl who was sleeping.
My wife’s health has been declining due to the mold exposure and poor air circulation, I have a hard time breathing when the air kicks on. I wish there was more that could be done to fix the problem. We are hoping to be able to move soon, you live and you learn.
