    I’m a very picky person and have already had experience living in apartments. These apartments pleasantly surprised me. I believe that everything depends on the excellent repairmen. Incredible people: responsible and very attentive. They repair everything very quickly and leave the place clean after the repair. They don't need to be asked twice or reminded. This makes life here incredibly comfortable.

    This is the most neglected apartment I've ever lived in. Grounds are trashy, literal trash everywhere, trees spray painted, kids toys strewn in all the bushes, grass is too long for dog poop to be picked up without smearing all over and that's IF they pick it up which most people don't. Roach infestations, squirrels living in the roof. Disgusting, loud neighbors. Walls are cracking and paneling is coming off but they just paint over it.AC units are old and dont work half the time. Expect 200-300$ ...
    Duke bills with only excuses from maintenance and management as to why it cant be fixed.

  • My first 10mins into moving in nightmare

    10mins into moving in, filthy apartment, nothing was cleaned but was vacuumed. Dishwasher has rust which is a health hazard, washing machine is covered with animal hair, toilet cracked and badly stained, drywall has damage in every room and poorly painted/drywall mud repair, spit in the sink, poorly painted drawers and cabinets where they painted over trash and hair/dirt, wasnt cleaned at all, dust covered apartment and painted over. 6 days later after I had to clean and sanitize then they offer ...
    to clean. I refused. I was told the only difference between the model apartment and mine was the extra bedroom. Then after running y credit and forcing them to show me my actual apartment, I find out there is no garden tub. Then, blamed me saying they told me. Yet I have video footage of their rep saying, "oh did I not mention that?" This place is highly unprofessional

    I was told my apartment would be cleaned prior to my move in date. On my move in date I arrived and the apartment didn't look like it was touched after the prior resident moved out. There were scuffs on the walls, webs at the top of doors and in the all way & the dish washer had remanence of food in it. I addressed all of my concerns with assistant manager who agreed the apartment was not cleaned. I was then told someone would come clean my apartment and they came while I was out & of course I ...
    come back home and it's still not cleaned properly. Pest control only comes if you put in a request so there are constantly bugs in the walk ways and I've had several bugs in my apartment. Popcorn ceilings. The popcorn ceilings are cracking in the entry way /bathrooms and there's slight cracking in the walls, when I mentioned that in my list on concerns, I was told "Well this is an old building" MAA 51 is advertised as luxury apartments but it's not luxury by any means.

    Overpriced for a run down look. Everything is cheaply made and fixed. My cabinets are peeling and my carpet is ripped. The neighbors are Neanderthals and won’t keep their hands off my cars. They also park so close to me and hit my cars with their doors and have NO regards for others things. WORST OF ALL the staff has so much attitude I hate going to the office for even the littlest of things. I dislike having to tell them to call me before entering my apartment cause maintenance will just walk in ...
    and do what they have to do whether you’re sleeping or showering. They don’t care. I rather terminate my lease early.

    Please, I’m begging you, do not move in here! I lived at this property from May 2017 to May 2018. During this time many problems showed up and rarely resolved. We had a rusted bathtub we were promised would be resurfaced before we moved in. It wasn’t. You cannot use your showe/tub for 24 hours before it is to be resurfaced. Luckily we have family in the area. Then the washing machine they provided wouldn’t drain. So that took weeks of “fixing” before they would authorize maintenance to deem it un ...
    fixable. Then the water heater broke. Again the complex told us to just turn it off when we aren’t using it. It still leaked so they were begrudgingly forced to get us a new one. Then the trash compactor was broken for months. We were told to not bring our trash to the compactor but at the same time threatened with a $25 fee per bag found on balcony’s or by front doors. The icing on the cake is the hundreds of dollars I’ve spent on doctor visits and medicine to treat mold related respiratory illness due to their bathrooms not being up to state code. The code states an exhaust fan or window must be in all bathrooms. Mine had neither. Then when I went to turn in my keys I was treated horribly asking for rent money when I didn’t owe anything and being charged a fee for renters insurance policy lapsing because their records were wrong, verified by my insurance agent. Then charged a $150 fee, also the security deposit I should have gotten back, because I cleaned the carpets myself rather than paying for a professional cleaner. Whatever you do…do not live here. Your health and well being is worth more than cheap rent. I now know why it was so affordable.

    We have lived in Matthews for awhile and in a few different communities over the years and we want you to know that we were impressed with the hard work the staff contributes each day. The property manager goes above and beyond and maintenance works very hard. Overall we enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed but it was time to purchase a home. We will miss the service!! We recommend the community to anyone.
