My experience with Colonial Grand at McDaniel Farm has been poor to say the least. It started day one with the extremely rushed walk through that lead to several issues being missed including damage to interior doors and carpets. In all fairness the maintenance was fantastic and they fixed the issues to the best of their ability without completely changing the carpets. But the good service stops there. Upon move out I was told that there would be a walk through (which never happened). Months
...after I moved out, I was sent an astronomical bill stating that the sliding glass door was broken (which it wasn't) and that I owed for carpet replacement.
After receiving the bill, I called the office and spoke to someone working there. After a few calls back and forth the fee for the sliding glass door was waived however, I was told that I'm still responsible for the carpet that was damaged when I moved in. I asked to speak to the office manager and was told that she would call me back in a few days. No one called back and when I went to check the online payment portal I saw that the fees were no longer there. I wrongly assumed the fees had been waived. Instead, they sent me to collections.
It was going to cost me more to hire a lawyer to fight this than it would to simply pay it. In my mind this is form of bullying. If you are considering Colonial Grand at McDaniel Farm, I encourage you to beware.
