Moving into Mountaineer Village has been one of the worst housing decisions I’ve made, and I highly encourage others not to live here. The management here is completely incompetent and disorganized. They decided to push through massive renovations while residents were actively living in the units. Dealing with the constant noise, dust, construction chaos, and lack of privacy in my own home has been an absolute nightmare. Management clearly prioritizes ...cosmetic flips over the actual well-being and peace of current tenants. To make matters worse, their pricing practices are incredibly shady and inconsistent. There is zero transparency. I found out that some people are getting slapped with significantly higher prices, while others are being offered much lower rent for the exact same setups. It feels like they are just making up numbers and trying to exploit whoever they can. Between the terrible management, living in a never-ending construction zone, and getting ripped off on rent, this place is absolutely not worth it. Unexpected Renovation Disruptions While Living Here
May 11, 2026 - Reseña de Apartments.comI feel future tenants deserve transparency about living through renovations at Mountaineer Village. Residents were required to remain in their apartments during multi-day construction involving flooring, paint, countertops, cabinets, and appliances, with contractors inside units from 8 AM–6 PM. Before work began, we were told disruptions would be minimized and apartments would remain fully livable. That has not been my experience. After the first day, my apartment was covered in dust, nails ...were left inside cabinets, and there was a strong construction/caulk smell throughout the unit. Communication has also been inconsistent at times, including being told to “watch a YouTube video” when asking if appliances were safe to use. I understand updates and replacements are necessary, but the gap between what was communicated and what residents are experiencing has been frustrating. If you’re considering living here, document everything and ask very detailed questions before signing.Leer Más

March 25, 2026 - Reseña de Apartments.comI love love love Mountaineer Village! After living at another complex in Boone, finding out about this place was literally like a dream come true. Our rooms are so spacious and finally having a ton of storage is soooo nice. Definitely has the best parking in town, and there are always fun events and things going on!!! Considering that a lot of the big name complexes in town frankly SUCK and have awful management, this is such a gem. The girlies at the office are so sweet and understanding and ...they really listen to feedback! The maintenance staff are also literally the best and love pets too so that's a bonus! This is honestly a great place to live, and you definitely get a good value for your money. The apartments are well maintained, maintenance is prompt, and the office staff are kind and helpful. All the appliances are in good condition, heating and a/c works well, and internet is tolerably fast. Additionally, all the amenities (gym, pool, office) are very nice. The walls are thick enough that you don't feel like ...you are right on top of each other, but it is worth noting that weekends can sometimes get a bit noisy as this complex is mainly catered to college students. Not Worth the Money
July 29, 2017 - Reseña de Apartments.comConsiderably anti consumer they will take any and all steps to shave costs in order to provide you with a bare minimum service so that they can justify taking your money. They will provide you with only a weeks notice on such things. In my mind when I'm paying 200 dollars more than most other places I shouldn't feel like I'm being cheated out of what I would consider basic privacy amenities.
Suitable for comfortable undergraduate living
June 7, 2017 - Reseña de Apartments.comI lived at Mountaineer Village for a total of 3 and a half years. The apartments are well maintained, and the staff is mostly helpful. There is no communication in the office between staff though. The apartment is spacious and I loved that the utilities were included. The a/c and heat worked great. Had no problems with appliances except the microwave, and the maintenance guys fixed that quickly. There needs to be more storage in the bedrooms though, particularly in the bathroom of bedroom 1. ...Amenities were nice, and I utilized the gym and free printing in the computer room often. I lived by the stairs and people did stomp up and down the steps at all hours of the night, so I'd suggest a very loud fan. Parties in my building were kept to a minimum, and had to call the cops only once because of feeling the base in my room which was across the hall. I would stay there again. The only reason I am moving is because I want a different change of scenery for graduate school, and want a quieter place.Leer Más

Maintenance is extremely fast and good at what they do. The office is open long hours, and every day of the week, which is really convenient. The office staff have also been great this year! I cannot wait for another year in these apartments!

July 21, 2015 - Reseña de Apartments.comThe maangers and maintenance were also helpful and kind. The bedrooms are spacious, the kitchen is suitable and fully equiped for college students. If we ever had any issues maintenance would come as quickly as possible, even on the weekends if it was an emergency. Great apartments for college students.

The management doesn't care about their residents, only about getting all of your money. Even if you try to sublease your room it will cost you almost 600$ in fees that they simply get to pocket. They are too strict on the rules at the pool... make you wear a wristband every time you go and you can only bring one guest. I like it here, but..

There is so much I like about Mountaineer Village, like the appalcart stops, the free maintenance, great staff, comfortable apartments, and our own bathrooms. However, it is SO loud here! I have awful upstairs neighbors that are constantly beating, stomping, and running around. It is so distracting. I might just be unlucky but definitely don't count on sound proof walls OR ceilings.
