Very poor living experience

There are no longer transponders to stick in your cars to access the gates, so even as a resident, you have to call yourself on the phone and let yourself into the gate every time you come home. The breezeways are extremely dirty and the grounds are not well kept. There is food, trash and chicken bones all throughout the property. You cannot access 80% of the amenities. The pet spa room is always locked, the pool is only ...open for 2 months out of the year. The home office space is inaccessible with key fobs. You cannot get to your mailbox unless the office is open, which is extremely inconvenient. The only good thing is the maintenance team. HIGH CRIME! Not safe!!

The Police officer said they have several break ins over here and asked what made us move here. I replied we moved from out of state and didn’t realize it was not safe, it looked like a nice complex. Our apartment was broke into, November. The complex has no security measures and basically let us know we were on our own, it was our responsibility to stay safe. After 2 days, they did fix our door. We are charged ...for valet trash- however, not consistently picked up. The office doesn’t respond to emails, difficult to get ahold of anyone on the phone. Parking- AWFUL. There is not enough parking spots, so People will park in the middle of the road making it difficult to pull out. Nothing is done. People park in handicap spots, aren’t handicap. Even the office staff park in the handicap spaces. We have tried to get out of our lease, but no luck. The electric bill is WAY too high for 2 people, that are seldom home. January 10, 2023 - Reseña de Apartments.comContacted the office five times about a noise complaint about my upstairs neighbors they live & stomp around like there is no one living under them, the manager says to record videos and email them because it doesn't seem "excessive" enough she also said they listened from OUTSIDE their apartment its been a month or so still haven't found a solution the noise is still ongoing DAILY I wouldn't recommend moving here the price is not worth the thin walls and the bad courtesy plus the manager is hard ...to get in contact withLeer Más

The staff is not very nice - every question I’ve ever had or when I’ve needed something they treat you like you are greatly inconveniencing them. There is crime, I’ve seen car break-ins and the mailroom was broken into and all of the packages were stolen… and things (like the front gate) seem to break constantly. I can’t count how many managers have been here since I signed my lease. They say they have all of these great “amenities” but they price gouge you on ...literally everything. The trash service is nice but when they pick up the trash they spill the “trash juice” all over the ground and no one ever cleans it up or washes it - the stairs are gross. I will say that the maintenance staff is actually very kind and respectful and they do fix issues quickly. Overall If I could do it over again I would look elsewhere.Leer Más

Horrible area and they don’t care about security at all. Car break-ins every night (no I’m not joking) as well as armed robberies (still not joking.) The cops are called probably once a week at least. They can’t keep a manager in the office longer than a week. We’ve been through 5 within a month. December 27, 2021 - Reseña de Apartments.comLooks great on the outside, but it is cheaply built. The staff turnover rate is absurd and no one ever knows what is going on. Half the amenities don't work and they won't fix them. Crime rate is HIGH. Neighbors are loud, probably due to the cheaply built buildings. Packages are constantly stolen/missing because the package room has been broken since we moved in April. Just look elsewhere, trust me on this.

The package room that is supposed to be using a special system to unlock the door does not work. Packages are stolen DAILY and management is aware and careless of the situation. The market room that is included in the amenities of the apartment is never stocked. The parking is horrible and a pain to find parking when getting off work. The fire pit barely works. The knob that turns on the gas is ...broken, as it has been for months. Again, reported to management. The grills are disgusting and there are several that do not work. The Hillson also offers valet trash pick up but they run their own schedule. There are days when items do not get picked up. It causes for the buildings to smell horrible. The door for the gym is broken and has not been fixed for months. If you are looking to wasting your money on things that will never be delivered, the Hillson is perfect for you.Leer Más

The gates are not up yet, which makes parking a free for all because "visitors" can park anywhere, making it frustrating for residents. There is no controlled access to the pool or facilities. Anyone can (and do) pull up to the complex and start swimming and partying at any time. The doors to the gym have been broken for weeks, allowing those same "visitors" complete access to the facilities. There is no communication about construction ...or maintenance work on the facility. The gas grills and fire pit were broken for a week and nothing was communicated. I hope these are just growing pains, but I'm worried how much worse it will get when the rest of the buildings open.Leer Más
Amazing Location, Apartments, and even better STAFF!!
May 4, 2021 - Reseña de Apartments.comMy fiance and I visited The Hillson on Saturday, May 1st. We absolutely loved our experience. We are currently living in a Fogelman property in Memphis, TN and we have to relocate to Nashville for work. As we stepped into the leasing office, we immediately felt the homey feeling and amazing vibes floating around the space. We don't know which was better, the décor or the people. Lindsey was preparing for our tour, while Josie was helping some new residences move in. Both ladies were so nice and ...had some of these most positive attitudes. You can tell they both enjoy what they do and where they work. Lindsey was very knowledgeable during our tour. She was able to answer all our questions and point out many of the amazing features of the different floor plans she showed us. We had other places to look at later that day, but we already knew nothing else could top The Hillson. We were unexcited and disinterested in the other locations we toured because they just couldn't compare. The apartments and location are amazing, but what really sold us is the people, the vibe and the sense of community that floods you as you walk through the door. We were so impressed that we dropped everything that same day and went back so we could do our application. We are moving in at the end of the month. We couldn't be more happy or excited. We knew Fogelman had a great property in Memphis, but it's great to see that we can go other places and have the same or an even better experience with Fogelman properties. This is a new build complex, so we don't anticipate any issues with the apartment on move in day. The place is so beautiful. You can tell, who ever designed the complex really took time to ensure it was up to the best standards!Leer Más
