  • Beautiful building and great service

    I moved in in December 2025 so it’s been a few months of living at The Roe at Manayunk. Overall, one of the best experiences living in a rental unit ever. I moved almost every year for the past decade and lived in many states and two countries and can honestly say this community deserves a 5-star review. - The building and amenities are very beautiful with a special historical cachet that is rare. I want to thank the owners of the community for undertaking what I imagine was a challenging ...
    project. From what I read renovating older buildings such as an old church can come with added complexities and costs, but I am grateful they were able to renovate the building I live in and making it modern while keeping historical aspects. - This is a smaller-sized community with about 30-40 other tenants so it truly feels boutique-like. The staff on site, Aleyna (property manager), her assistants and the maintenance crew are all top notch. Very professional and go above and beyond to keep the community clean (it always smells good and looks impeccable in all common areas). They even wall mounted my TV at no additional cost similar to what another review said. In addition, when they were snow storms, they even removed the snow off of not only the parking lot but also off of our cars to echo what another review said. Never seen such dedication to excellent service in a rental community, it sometimes feels like a 5-star hotel. I think they even use the same diffuser you’d find in a luxury hotel. - The other residents are all very nice and respectful. Something that seems common in so many rentals nowadays is the smell of cigarettes or marijuana, this is something I have never smelled here which is a big plus to me. - The apartments are definitely on the higher range price-wise for Manayunk but I’d say you do get more than other communities I’d consider prior to moving in. - There are a few hiccups here and there probably related to the building’s age, but I trust that the team will do their best to resolve.     I would highly recommend living here! The apartments are brand new and beautifully done. The staff is top notch. Aleyna (the onsite property manager) does such a great job making you feel welcome and at home. The location is also great. You can walk to all the restaurants, bars, etc. in Manayunk in minutes and there is a gated parking lot onsite so you don’t ever have to worry about finding a spot. Can’t say enough great things about living here!

    When my husband first suggested Manayunk as the neighborhood for our retirement to Philadelphia, I was skeptical. When we came to the Open House at The Roe (last October), I was converted. We loved the idea of living in a restored historical building and the vision the company has for creating a community that would stand out in an already valued neighborhood. We had to downsize a LOT (from our house in NJ) to move into this space and the layout of our apartment - including varying ceiling heights and lots of windows - makes it seem more spacious (than square footage would indicate). The management team has been super helpful, throughout the several months of waiting for the apartment to be available as well during our moving in. It is obvious they care about the tenants. We are already quite happy here and looking forward to enjoying the other amenities as they are completed. They REALLY got this right!!!

There is nothing cookie cutter or non-descript about the buildings and community. The buildings are a historic renovation of a former parish that included a school, church, rectory and large open parking lots. The community is developed as a campus. Tremendous care has been spent in taking magnificent but tired old buildings (some nearly 200 years old) and repositioning them into ultra sophisticated living space. They are designed with a great deal of thought as to how people work and live. Built to the highest of standards for energy efficiency and sound control. They feature volume ceilings, high end finishes, massive windows. The community has three parks, and soon the amenity area will open to our residents.
