I’ve lived in a lot of apartment buildings over the years, and The Sutton is genuinely in a category of its own. What sets this place apart isn’t just the beautiful waterfront location, the thoughtfully designed mid-century modern interiors, or the spotless amenities, it’s the staff. The team here truly cares about the day-to-day experience of the residents in a way I’ve honestly never experienced before. Haley and Diana, along with the rest of the staff, go far beyond what you would normally ...
expect from property management. They are attentive, professional, warm, and consistently present. Whether it’s handling a maintenance issue immediately, making sure the building runs flawlessly, or simply greeting residents and their pets with kindness every day, they create an atmosphere that feels much more like a real community than a typical apartment building. What also makes The Sutton special is the experience-driven approach to living here. They regularly organize events and partnerships with local businesses that make residents actually feel connected to Portland. Wine tastings, happy hours, museum experiences, local collaborations, and other thoughtful perks that elevate everyday life here beyond simply “having an apartment.” The building itself is beautiful, meticulously maintained, and incredibly comfortable to live in, but the culture the staff has created is what really makes this place exceptional. It’s rare to find a team this dedicated, conscientious, and genuinely invested in the well-being of the people who live here. The Sutton is truly an incredible community. I have lived here for almost two years now, and I love seeing my neighbors at community events. The experience team is amazing and always has a solution whenever something comes up. The maintenance team is consistently on top of work orders, and the residents here are just wonderful. It is truly the best place to live in the Pearl.

You will find your people here, and I’m so glad I was able to make great friends. They also added work out classes into the building experience as well, highly recommend. IT IS FREE! I cannot talk enough good about the experience in living here! Safety has been the first thing I want to bring attention to. This is a facility you need a key fob to enter into, or you need a code from someone living in the building in order to enter. They do not play when it comes to the safety of the folks that ...
live here and I appreciate the heck out of this. If you do need the security, there’s a building number for you within the app and they will be there in less than 10 minutes to help in whatever way they can! On site maintenance is astounding. I feel safe and the folks are awesome. They will get your issues resolved fast. My first week in my washer had a minor….. leak. But we got things cleaned up and running so quick - I was super happy. Front desk and management team are so personable and great people to just sit and chat with. I am unafraid to ask any and all questions with them. I definitely recommend taking the time to tour and get to know the property.

The Sutton is a classic example of a building with so much potential but is completely ruined by poor management. The only reason this place gets a single star is because the floor plans are genuinely amazing and no noise from the floors on top of you. Beyond that, it’s been an incredibly disappointing experience. I used to be an advocate for The Sutton. I loved my home and the community here. But over time, it’s clear that mismanagement and neglect have dragged this building down. Valet ...
parking? A disaster. Cars are constantly damaged — everything from small scratches to full-on totaled vehicles. Management? When Sentral took over, it seemed promising at first. But once they hit their occupancy targets, it became painfully obvious they no longer care. Basic services and standards of living in a "luxury" building have completely fallen by the wayside. They cherry-pick when to enforce policies, applying rules inconsistently and unfairly. It’s clear they view residents as numbers, not people. Flooding? Multiple apartments have experienced floods—probably over ten in the last year alone. Customer service? Forget it. The general manager, in particular, has been completely dismissive of serious issues, following protocol only when it suits her. I personally experienced a situation where her mismanagement escalated a dispute with a neighbor to the point that authorities had to be involved. To top it off, when confronted, she screamed at me in the lobby in front of several witnesses. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. It’s heartbreaking to see a place I once loved become so poorly run.

Ilove living at the Sutton! I've been living at the Sutton for 3.5 months now and so happy with my decision of moving here. The staff is all super friendly, easy to access and they are all really affectionate towards my dog. I find it to be a very LGBTQ+ friendly environment and I love meeting my neighbors during the building community events. Diana facilitates awesome activities for us to do together and I felt part of the community very soon after moving in. The maintenance staff is super ...

We stayed at the Sutton and it was an outstanding property with excellent management and amenities! Perched on the Willamette Greenway, a fantastic walking and jogging trail, and a few minutes walk from downtown, the property is extremely clean, has a fantastic modern gym and lobby, and is excellently managed! My fiancée and I moved in six months after the building was completed. Unlike other reviews you may read, my primary issue was with ownership and their previous management hires, who mishandled my maintenance orders for an entire year. The situation became so severe that we had to consider legal action to be heard. However, under Sentral's new management team, we were able to resolve the issue without resorting to legal measures. Sentral offers a quality of service that stands out, including: - Happy hour on alcohol - Complimentary weekend brunch - Food vending machines - Complimentary yoga sessions - Weekly food truck at our building - Whiskey tasting In just one month, Sentral was able to offer tenants all these amenities, thanks to their amazing Experience team, lead by Diana. Sentral being the current management resolved my legal dispute with ownership and demonstrated that they genuinely value their tenants. They take care of their tenants and are invested in lease renewals.
