FLOODED WITH RAW SEWAGE- Completely Unprofessional

My apartment flooded with raw sewage on February 26th, 2026 because a PVC pipe was found in their plumbing system. The entire recovery process felt unprofessional and was anxiety inducing. Watch out for unit 622. This flood happened to more than just this unit but I was told mine was the worst. Tried to get the city health inspectors to check it out. There was a test result that was negative air quality on June 1st. I guess an air quality test isn’t required to be legally safe, but if I had the ...
money I would’ve hired someone to test that place all up and over if I could’ve. There was a lot of questionable activities through out the whole process, it did not feel safe. I do not feel like my safety and wellbeing was cared for. I was told the unit was “safe” to move back into months later very unprofessionally. I was told my all of my personal belongings were “safe” to keep but I documented all of them and received insurance coverage for all of it due to the severity of the Category 3 black water flood. I was given the option to move back into the apartment that still smelled of raw sewage -or break the lease and move out of the building in 3 weeks. The timeline of when this unit was determined safe remains to be questionable. I feel like nobody was taking me seriously or genuinely cared about my experience here. I guess I’ll still have to pay full price of rent even though I’m being treated unprofessionally and there were major inconveniences the entire time since that flood. I was being charged full rent for a tinier temporary furnished unit (with no paperwork to document my time in there at all even upon request they never sent me documentation for the construction process or anything stating I can legally reside in the guest unit for almost 3 months… giving me little legal protection which is why I had to move out in less than a month with no proper notice) I moved out June 15th but they did not follow their word of refunding me for the month of June - for moving out of their guest unit much earlier than the end of my lease (originally July 10th). The front desk staff are really sweet, but Sentral is bad news. They don’t care about their residents, they care about money, - that’s just how I feel. Waiting for true compensation that equates to justice.

The Sutton is truly an incredible community. I have lived here for almost two years now, and I love seeing my neighbors at community events. The experience team is amazing and always has a solution whenever something comes up. The maintenance team is consistently on top of work orders, and the residents here are just wonderful. Safety has been the first thing I want to bring attention to. This is a facility you need a key fob to enter into, or you need a code from someone living in the building in order to enter. They do not play when it comes to the safety of the folks that ...
live here and I appreciate the heck out of this. If you do need the security, there’s a building number for you within the app and they will be there in less than 10 minutes to help in whatever way they can!
On site maintenance is astounding. I feel safe and the folks are awesome. They will get your issues resolved fast. My first week in my washer had a minor….. leak. But we got things cleaned up and running so quick - I was super happy.
Front desk and management team are so personable and great people to just sit and chat with. I am unafraid to ask any and all questions with them.
I definitely recommend taking the time to tour and get to know the property.

The Sutton is a classic example of a building with so much potential but is completely ruined by poor management. The only reason this place gets a single star is because the floor plans are genuinely amazing and no noise from the floors on top of you. Beyond that, it’s been an incredibly disappointing experience.
I used to be an advocate for The Sutton. I loved my home and the community here. But over time, it’s clear that mismanagement and neglect have dragged this building down.
Valet ...
parking? A disaster. Cars are constantly damaged — everything from small scratches to full-on totaled vehicles.
Management? When Sentral took over, it seemed promising at first. But once they hit their occupancy targets, it became painfully obvious they no longer care. Basic services and standards of living in a "luxury" building have completely fallen by the wayside. They cherry-pick when to enforce policies, applying rules inconsistently and unfairly. It’s clear they view residents as numbers, not people.
Flooding? Multiple apartments have experienced floods—probably over ten in the last year alone.
Customer service? Forget it. The general manager, in particular, has been completely dismissive of serious issues, following protocol only when it suits her. I personally experienced a situation where her mismanagement escalated a dispute with a neighbor to the point that authorities had to be involved. To top it off, when confronted, she screamed at me in the lobby in front of several witnesses. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
It’s heartbreaking to see a place I once loved become so poorly run.

Ilove living at the Sutton! I've been living at the Sutton for 3.5 months now and so happy with my decision of moving here. The staff is all super friendly, easy to access and they are all really affectionate towards my dog. I find it to be a very LGBTQ+ friendly environment and I love meeting my neighbors during the building community events.

We stayed at the Sutton and it was an outstanding property with excellent management and amenities! Perched on the Willamette Greenway, a fantastic walking and jogging trail, and a few minutes walk from downtown, the property is extremely clean, has a fantastic modern gym and lobby, and is excellently managed!
