I have lived at the Wind Song Apartments for about 2 years now. From day one the on-site staff has been amazing. We can always drop in and say hello to the property managers in the office or give a friendly wave to the amazing maintenance team. We know them and they know us, and they never enter your apartment without your consent (or plenty of warning if the government wants to do an inspection).
The Location:
Wind Song is a mere 3 miles from Oakland University. It is a fantastic place to be
...off campus with more freedom and space than a dorm would offer. Wind Song is also 3-4 miles from Great Lakes Crossing Mall. It is located near 75 which makes traveling to Detroit or across the state easy.
The Property:
The apartments themselves are very clean. Last year they upgraded to a keyless entry system that is more secure than a normal key that can be copied. Inside, the apartments are very clean. The entire apartment was cleaned and carpet replaced before we moved in. Whenever we have a problem, we can call maintenance and they will take care of it. So far we've had several things fixed from a leaky faucet to a broken garbage dispenser (It wasn't me I promise). They even upgraded our shower faucet when they noticed it was one of the older models while fixing something else. All of these fixes and upgrades came without cost or complaint from the staff.
The Community:
The community at Wind Song is great. The staff often throws holiday and seasonal parties for the residents. Since moving in 2 years ago, there has been summer parties at the pool, holiday parties in the office with food and beverage, and several friendly photo competitions like Cutest Couple and Best Friends. We've met some amazing neighbors at these parties. The neighbors in general are very good. Because of the location, many of them are college students and are generally very quiet. Maybe after Finals week you'll hear a party on the weekend, but they earned it right?
Conclusion:
I am so glad that we chose Wind Song over other apartments we were looking at when we moved in. We even toured another apartment complex that had a shady individuals, staff that barely spoke English, and bars on the windows, and a smaller living space FOR THE SAME PRICE. Wind Song is an amazing value and a great place to call home. In 2 years, we've never had any major issues. The staff is always there to answer questions or to fix up that door that started squeaking.
10/10 would rent here again.
