Welcome to Whispering Lakes Apartments, a privately-owned complex nestled off Dequindre Road and M-59. Our prime location offers convenient access to Troy Beaumont Hospital, Downtown Rochester, a variety of restaurants, shopping centers, and is less than an hour from Detroit and DTW airport. Our community boasts a range of floor plans to suit your lifestyle, from 1-bedroom ground and upper-level apartments to 2-bedroom apartments with one or two bathrooms, both on the ground and upper levels. Each apartment features private entries, large walk-in closets, and washer/dryer hookups, with the added benefit of a carport included in the rent. Residents enjoy the accommodating maintenance and office staff, as well as the opportunity to cultivate personal gardens. In a unique gesture of community spirit, the owner provides two flats of flowers per residence during May for tenants to plant and maintain in their personal garden. Whispering Lakes Apartments is also pet-friendly, allowing up to two cats per apartment. Great experience
December 13, 2025We lived at Whispering Lakes Apartments for two years, and honestly, if we hadn’t purchased a house, we would not have moved. It was a very pleasant place to live—quiet, well-maintained, and comfortable. The management team, especially Maria and Michel, were extremely helpful and kind. They were always responsive, professional, and genuinely cared about residents, which made a big difference during our time there. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and have nothing but positive things to say. Very pleased
June 11, 2023I’ve lived in so many apartments over the years but this one was by far my most comfortable experience. The staff were incredibly responsive and helpful with any issues that came up and were also very friendly and accommodating. I am upset I have to leave. Great Management & Maintenance Guys
March 4, 2021I have been at this complex for over 3 years now. This place really has become home for me and I plan on staying for years to come. The mainenance guys are very personable and always are so quick to come and have will explain why something went wrong and quick fixes if it ever happens again. They also do a great job at getting the snow shoveled in a timely fashion. We recently had a big snow storm and the guys were out there all night so that people had their sidewalks shoveled in time for ...work. I also have been very impressed with management. Both the managers (Michelle and Jerry) seem to really care about the complex and the residents as well. The one thing I didn't like was that when I renew my lease my rent has gone up about $15-$20 per year but it looks like they do keep it below what they are charging for new tenants. Perfect
November 18, 2018This is by far the best apartment I have ever had. This is a quiet and well maintained community. I have a one bedroom upper and it is absolutely perfect, I love it. When I moved in it was very clean, updated and well maintained. The office staff here are great, they are quick to respond and very friendly. They maintenance staff are also quick to respond to any issues that may come up. Highly recommend these apartments, they fill up quickly and I myself was on a waiting list prior to moving ...in. Poor management
August 23, 2017i lived in the complex for years. Maintenance was poor at best. I complained to the office manager that my dryer that was over 10 years old was no longer drying my clothes. It would take hours to dry a small load. She finally had maintenance bring in a old dirty dryer that was stained on the inside and full of lint. I still have pictures and videos of the dryer the day it was brought in. That dryer would get extremely hot but the clothes would not dry. When I bought it to her attention she stated ...that it only needs to be in working order. I stated that I wanted a different dryer and she stated that she would not replace it. She also stated that if I was so unhappy that I should wove out. I would also like to note that I often had to shovel my car out during the winter months because maintenance would not be careful when plowing and put large amounts of snow behind my car. Be careful - more than you think
January 18, 2017As the parent of a recent college graduate who settled in Shelby Twp last year, realize you will take the bad with the good at Whispering Lakes. Yes, it is a quiet and comparatively safe area; but make certain you fully consider how their rigid 13 month lease, with no willingness for early cancellation or abatement of termination fees, might affect you. They consider it non-negotiable. Plus, if you begin your lease anytime other than the first of the month, they will add the remainder of that ...first month to the thirteen months starting thereafter. So when you evaluate the total cost of ownership, understand it can rise significantly beyond the stated monthly rent, damage and key deposits. My takeaway from this rental experience is that their lease policy is expressly designed to exploit as much as fees as possible from lessors. But as their leasing agent says, they've "been doing this for twenty years;" huh? They must be comfortable in this practice and deception. For your protection, please review applicable Michigan leasing requirements (MCL 554.631 to 554.641) and federal housing statutes under the Consumer Protection Act before you naively fall for their folksy charm and appealing grounds. Current Resident
January 4, 2016I am a current resident at Whispering Lake Apt. The apartment buildings are nice however that repeatedly need maintenance for something or the other. To top it of the maintenance service is terrible and god forbid something goes wrong on the weekend they never have a solution to your problem. During summer time the spiders and other bugs are a huge menace. I would expect better service for the rent we pay.Reseña de Apartments.com
