To add to the charm, a small one-bedroom guest house (the original servant quarters?) occupies most of the back of the house, which also includes three gated parking spots. Modern amenities like an HVAC system and an excellent management clash with old-house flaws like poor insulation (which however means saving on A/C in the summer!), slightly slanted floors and lack of a laundry unit in the apartment. The house is at walking distance from the USC campus, Expo line station, restaurants and coffee houses, and surrounded by other Victorian historic houses, which are however often 5 or 6-bedroom mansions and therefore call for more roommates (which is only bearable when you are a college student). It's also a short Metro ride away from Downtown (forget the hassle of looking for parking!). Overall, a roomy charismatic property at quite a competitive rent for the area, which is mainly populated by USC students and Hispanic families.
