I'd been living in my apartment at 1900 Lamont for many years and service has never been better than is now under Chinenye management.
Had to redo the kitchen floor and cabinets and it was done fast and it looks beautiful now.

I loved my time at 1900 Lamont for a few reasons and would highly recommend it to future tenants looking for a place to stay. First, the location is great - south west end of the Mount Pleasant Area. The zoo is right there and it's close to retail stores and restaurants. Second, the community is nice and quiet if you require a little rest and relaxation or don't want a lot going on outside your home.

Beautiful location! The building is right next to Rock Creek Park, and is close to Mount Pleasant and Columbia Heights shopping/restaurants.
The building is "vintage" and the management team is doing quite a lot of upgrades. Most maintenance issues we have had get taken care of pretty quickly.
The studios are the largest in the area I've seen. Overall I would recommend this building.
A Nice Building that's Getting Good Upgrades

The Randall Mansion is not the best building in the universe, no.
It's very hard to get anything up on the walls for decoration, the central heat in the winter is overpowering, the building is old and you can see signs of that everywhere, and the elevator is ancient.
But would I recommend living here?
Yes.
The location -- at the south west end of the Mount Pleasant Area -- is quite nice, with family homes, quiet streets and tree-shaded sidewalks. Lamont Street is just a few short blocks to ...
the back entrance of the National zoo, and within site of Rock Creek Park.
These are all good things!
Even better, the building is currently getting a series of wonderful upgrades (as of July 2015.)
? Newly renovated laundry room (with lower prices!)
? Renovations to lobby and common areas (which I helped design, actually!)
? Creation new bike storage and package areas
? Brand new windows throughout the building, plus new air conditioners for each unit.
? Now dog and cat friendly, with a dog park literally outside the front door
? New elevator will be put in
While there is no on-site management representative, the management company (DARO) has, in general, been friendly and responsive and I?ve been happy with my experience here.
The building is affordable.
Overall, I would say that this building is a good value in a good neighborhood and would recommend it to others!
