    We lived at this apartment complex from June 2024 to June 2025. We were initially attracted by the renovations and the reasonable price for a two-bedroom. Our first major issue occurred within the first week of move-in when the apartment had no electricity. NIPSCO informed us that because the power had been off for several months, a city inspection was required before service could be restored. When we notified the property manager, Mickey, she stated she would handle it. Unfortunately, no ...
    action was taken. We were forced to schedule the inspection ourselves, remain at the apartment for several days waiting for the inspector, and live nearly a week without power. We also had to pay a $75 NIPSCO reconnection fee. Requests for reimbursement or prorated rent were ignored. Throughout the lease, communication was inconsistent but manageable. When we moved out, we provided proper notice per the lease and left the apartment in better condition than we received it. Under Indiana law, landlords are required to return the security deposit or provide an itemized statement within 45 days, which did not happen. The property manager, Mickey, was the only point of contact for tenants. For months after move-out, she repeatedly told us she was “checking with the office,” then eventually stopped responding altogether. With no other contact information provided, we had to independently research ownership and identified Crown Point Apartments LLC as the owner. After nearly six months, we sent formal demand letters to the property manager, the address listed on the lease, and the owner, with no resolution. As a last resort, we filed a lawsuit to recover our security deposit. Only after the property manager and owner were served did we finally receive our deposit. We then canceled the case and absorbed the court filing fees simply to move on. Overall, we do not recommend this property. Given the amount of hassle we experienced, along with the lack of communication, structure, and professionalism, this is not a place we would choose again. If you decide to rent here, we strongly recommend keeping all text messages, emails, receipts, lease documents, and move-out photos. Based on our experience, it appeared the security deposit was withheld until legal action was initiated rather than returned within the required timeframe. Having thorough documentation will help protect you and support your case should you need to pursue recovery of your deposit.

    I’ve lived here for a while, and while the location and new amenities initially seemed appealing, the management and maintenance experience have been frustrating. The maintenance person is friendly and seems to genuinely want to help, but there’s little follow-through unless you constantly follow up. Even then, it’s clear that he’s not equipped with the proper tools or resources to fix issues, which seems to stem from a lack of support from the owner based on conversations with ...
    him. Management, on the other hand, is downright terrible. The property manager (a single individual) is only attentive and friendly when you’re first moving in. After that, if you bring up any concerns, her demeanor completely changes—she’s rude, dismissive, and unresponsive. It feels like the tenants are a burden rather than valued residents. Overall, the lack of professionalism and care from management creates unnecessary stress. If you’re considering this place, think carefully about whether you’re willing to deal with these issues.
