I’ve been renting a room here since February, and the manager has been problematic from the start. He demanded cash only, promised a lease, and never provided one. Despite that, he constantly added rules, got angry over minor things, and acted unpredictably.When a friend stayed briefly, he tried demanding money from them. who owned them. He frequently yelled at tenants in the hallway, accused people of stealing, and threatened eviction without proper notice. He eventually handed me a vague “possession of property” notice with no reason listed. I believe this was retaliation connected to another tenant he was also trying to evict. He refuses to explain why I’m being removed and ignores all communication. Another tenant reported suspicious withdrawals from her bank account after he pressured her about rent, which raises serious concerns—especially since he pushed me to ride with him to the bank each month. Living under constant threats has disrupted my medical appointments, classes, and routine. Someone who originally helped me find the room even falsely told me I was on a court docket, which turned out to be untrue. Overall, the manager uses shady rental practices, demands cash, provides no leases, threatens tenants, inserts himself into their personal lives, and behaves manipulatively. Based on my experience and what other tenants have shared, I believe he is acting illegally and has harassed multiple residents, including me.
