Avoid This Building If You Expect Competent Management

I have lived in this building long enough to experience many of the old and current management, and while there have been some changes in the people running this place, the overall level of service remains unacceptable.
Under previous management, basic building security was neglected. Entry doors were frequently left unsecured, allowing unauthorized individuals to enter the building aka homeless people smoking inside building etc. Residents repeatedly raised concerns, yet little appeared to be ...
done aka nothing. I even documented some of these incidents with photographs because the situation became so common.
The biggest issue, however, has been communication and responsiveness. For the past two months, I have been requesting a simple residency confirmation letter. This is a basic document that many residents require for applications and proof of address. Despite multiple emails, phone calls, and several visits to the management office in person, I still have not received it. There is no reasonable excuse for a routine administrative request to take over two months. Aka lazy management.
Management also failed to provide adequate notice when the main entrance became inaccessible for an extended period. Residents were left wondering how mail and packages would be delivered and how visitors or emergency responders would access the building if needed. Communication about major disruptions should be the bare minimum, yet residents were left completely in the dark.
A residential building is not just about collecting rent. It requires security, communication, and basic administrative competence. Unfortunately, my experience has been that management consistently falls short in all three areas.
I would strongly caution anyone considering moving here to carefully evaluate whether they are comfortable dealing with a management team that is difficult to reach, slow to act, and often fails to keep residents informed.
