Stay Away: Building Management

I hate that I'm leaving a 1 star review but the 40 East Oak building management truly deserve it. In my two years of residence they have been consistently rude, unwilling to address issues and disruptive to my living experience. I've had to have my bathroom redone 4x this year because of a leak that they won't fix - and they won't give any reduction in rent or admit the issue exists.
Other management issues:
- Rent rates are not consistent - do not sign here without pushing back. My friend lives ...
in a significantly larger unit and pays $150 less per month than me.
- They increase rent for residents who want to resign but keep open units at lower rent rates (my rent increased $75 monthly but the open identical unit on my floor was offered at lower than my previous rate).
- Elevators are often down - particularly the freight elevator which is the only one that leads to the laundry room and gym.
Door staff is wonderful - they are the only upside!
