The building has smelled like garbage for nearly a year, with the 9th floor being the most severely affected. Ongoing backdrafts or blockages in the trash chute cause rancid odors to circulate through multiple floors, leaving the building smelling like rotting trash. This issue has significantly impacted my quality of life and how I feel about living here. I am aware of multiple residents and visitors who have noticed the stench as high as the 15th floor.

As a life long renter and an admittedly particular person who likes order and cleanliness, 400H is in my top 3 favorite places I've lived. I love the layout of my apartment, the light from my windows, and my balcony with the best sunset views of DT Raleigh. We have met great people in the building, the leasing team is fantastic, the concierge group excellent, the maintenance guys are top notch and very responsive, and the cleaning team makes us marvel at how they keep this place looking & smelling great 24/7.
