Footsteps from upstairs make you feel like they're going to fall through the ceiling. Conversations from both upstairs and downstairs neighbors are audible, forcing you to become familiar with their daily routines, work schedules, sleep patterns, TV-watching habits, and even whether they have pets. It's rent-stabilized, but not worth it. Renting this place requires an awful lot of faith in the behavior of your neighbors. If you must live here, pick the highest floor. At least you'll have one less neighbor to deal with.
