    • Difficult living conditions and poor to zero upkeep of building

      I do not recommend this building. My experience since moving in has been consistently poor and, in many cases, unsafe. The landlord is largely absent. He appears only to collect rent and is otherwise extremely difficult to reach. There is no formal maintenance reporting system. Tenants must repeatedly call and follow up to get any response, and even then action is slow unless multiple people complain. Building maintenance is severely lacking.       and ice accumulate and remain untreated. I have personally fallen twice because of the unsafe conditions. This alone should be a major liability concern. Inside the building, there is visible damage that has not been properly repaired. There was previous water leakage and plumbing work, but the plaster and paint were never restored. There is still plaster and stucco damage, including material falling from the ceiling. This creates both an eyesore and a potential safety issue. The building has a persistent foul odor, similar to dead fish, likely coming from the extremely old carpeting in the common areas. The smell is strong and unpleasant on a daily basis. Lighting is another serious problem. During the day, corridor lights are off, leaving hallways pitch black. This is both inconvenient and unsafe for residents and visitors. Deliveries are very difficult. The building uses an outdated entry system that requires a personal four digit code for each delivery. Most drivers cannot access the building, and packages are frequently marked as not delivered. This building is not set up for modern parcel delivery at all. Inside the units, workmanship appears poor. Fixtures and doors feel reused and improperly installed. In my unit, doors have come off hinges due to short screws and low quality installation. Most concerning, the heat and hot water recently went out across multiple units. When I reported it, the landlord initially dismissed the issue, claiming no one else had complained. Only after multiple tenants raised concerns was action taken. This reflects a reactive rather than responsible approach to essential services. Overall, the building feels rundown, poorly maintained, and unsafe. Management is unresponsive, and basic upkeep is neglected. Prospective tenants should proceed with extreme caution.
