It took 3 weeks for a replacement to arrive, and another week for it to be hooked up and functioning throughout the building. Then it was another month before hot water was restored to the washing Machine. (Yes, there is only one Washing machine and Dryer serving an 8 unit building.) Long time renters in the building have also reported that when they've requested urgent repairs, they were immediately told afterwards their rent was being increased, which has caused many to be hesitant in requesting. There are lots of broken lights, and janky electrical fixtures that are visible from the exterior of the building. After the new hot water heater was installed, the old one literally sat in the garage for a full year, just taking up space. It was only hauled off the day before they showed a recently vacated apartment to new potential tenants. Also: The management company has contracted individuals, who really love coming at 8am with loud (illegal in Albany) gas powered leaf blowers that will really quickly make everything smell like gasoline and exhaust for the next several hours, as an FYI. But hey, it does have a nice view of the Golden Gate. That's pretty much all you're paying for. Sidenote: The next door neighbors on the hill are very nice, but it's not a great place if you work night shifts, or have migraines, as their children seem to have discovered uncharted decibels in the sonic spectrum and I'm sure would have fantastic careers if they chose as either soccer announcers (yelling GOAL for 5 minutes straight) or Opera singers. I've since left the complex, but I hope the management company really re-evaluates why they're in this business, and soon.
