Luxury apartments! Beautiful outdoor spaces!

I have had nothing short of an amazing experience here! First, the property itself is beautiful and very well maintained. Second, Ann and Sonia are wonderfully helpful! Sonia gave me a tour of the property and walked me through the application process. The maintenance staff are prompt to address any issues and even went above and beyond to help me coordinate a large delivery. They are respectful when they enter my home and go out of their way to make sure my dog is comfortable with them too! ...
Their outdoor spaces have mint, rosemary, sage, and lemon trees! I often feel like I live in Italy! When I was trying to walk though a logistical issue Ann said, “we are here to make your life easier!” Yes please! I feel safe and very well cared for here!

Repeated Car Break-Ins (in gated parking) and unexplained security deposit deductions

? recently moved out of this apartment and In general this is a nice place with polite and helpful staff. However, I was shocked to see that they charged me for cleaning post moving out even after I had spent many many hours cleaning to bring the apartment back to the original condition. Total cleaning charges were 440 dollars out of the 500 dollars deposit and they didn't provide any receipts or details of the cleaning process. Had I known that they would charge so much I wouldn't have spent so ...
much effort to make the apartment clean. I am attaching of the apartment when I left (after I cleaned up). I feel quite disappointed and upset by the management. This is really unfortunate that I have to post this for an otherwise good apartment complex. I also forgot to mention that I had my car broken into two times (in the gated parking) in three months along with at least 10-12 other cars. Unhelpfully, the officials told us that the CCTVs were not working on the day of the theft, and the people who filed common complaint had nothing they could check to have some peace of mind.

Im a current resident, moved in 3 weeks ago. The building is clean and modern. Both leasing and maintenance teams are awesome! I submitted two maintenance requests so far and got a response right away. Armen was really helpful and got both my issues resolved in a matter of minutes. So far Im really happy I chose this apartment complex.

Do not rent at Elan Mountain View. Please, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. I lived here for 1 year and recently (and finally) moved out. Below is my experience and honest opinion of Elan Mountain View. 1). There has been 3-4 changes in management over the past year; no clear reason, but this should give a little insight into the state of management. 2). Studio apartments are a literal box at ~550 square feet. They claim "9 foot ceilings throughout", but the bathrooms have very short ...
ceilings and feel like a dungeon. In my particular unit, the air ducts took up half the ceiling, making if feel much less than 9 ft. 3). My studio had no bathroom vanity--just a sink out of the wall with no counter space or cabinets. I had to store my bathroom supplies in the kitchen cabinets, which already had limited space. 4). There is a MANDADTORY $30/month Valet trash fee that you cannot get out of. They will not tell you about this unless you specifically ask. 5). In the early Spring, 2020, we had a theft problem with tenants getting bikes stolen. Vehicles were broken into in our secure garage, and one tenant had their rims and tires stolen. I saw this mentioned in an earlier post, too. 6). Courtyard is nice and quiet; however, Elan lacks in amenities for sure. There is no pool, limited outdoor seating space, and the gym often had broken equipment, etc. If you are looking to move to the South Bay, please, please, please do yourself a favor and look at other places. The cost of rent in the area is down compared to last year, and you have much better, cheaper options with much larger space and better amenities. Also, if you do decide to go with Elan, make sure you actually do an in-person tour. I made the mistake of signing last year after doing a virtual tour and instantly regretted it when I stepped in the door.
