Not as expected
March 19, 2026Alexander Park seems to be a nice complex from the outside. The apartments are also spacious, but the level of cleanliness and hygiene is very poor. When I moved into a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment a few days ago, I found a dirty cooktop, a stained dryer, stained carpets, a bad smell all over the apartment (probably because there was no proper cleaning of the HVAC system when the previous tenant left), a broken food waste disposal, stained and smelly kitchen cabinets, a bad smell coming from ...the fridge, cigarettes and used napkins in the balcony, etc. Basically, the apartment was not cleaned for moving in. When I told the leasing office that the apartment needed more cleaning, they told me it was not necessary. I am very disappointed as I had to pay out of my pocket a cleaning service to come and clean my apartment properly. I think this is unfair given the high rent they ask to pay, which also includes maintenance fees. If you are planning to move to one of their apartments, please keep these things in mind.Property Manager Responded

March 8, 2026It's somewhere to live I guess.. Parking sucks. Utilities are nuts. Black mold in vents in a basically brand new building. Toilets get clogged with nothing but liquid. Takes 5 minutes to get hot water, then it runs out in 5 minutes. If you use an Air Fryer at the same time as using the dishwasher you'll blow a breaker. There's a weird trash pickup thing you're forced to pay for, which means everybody just leaves their trash outside in the halls for days. Snow removal is non-existent. The leasing ...office is non-existent. People let their dogs poop everywhere without picking it up. Your car WILL get hit multiple times, and rummaged through because there's zero security.Property Manager Responded

Beware
October 2, 2024Counting the days till we can leave. Utilities easily cost $300-$450 in the winter with minimum use. Parking is horrendous, you can't get a spot in front of your own building most days and it's so tight you can hardly get in and out. Neighbors are loud and you get people outside honking their horns, playing with their locks to make beeping sounds. Giant dog wakes us barking every morning and night. Trash you get fined for leaving out but the compactor is so full you can't throw anything away ...properly. House centipedes and ants run the place. Good luck.Property Manager Responded

AVIOD THIS PLACE
July 13, 2024This is the worst apt I’ve ever been in. Nobody answers your calls or emails. I can hear people walking/stomping around all night and all morning. They make you pay a trash fee but if u leave your trash out they charge you an extra $50. They took my recycling bin. Dog poop is all over the grass areas. Loud traffic that’s booms through the apartment. My utilities were $300 in the winter. I honestly hate paying to be here every month and I’m counting the days I get to leave.Property Manager Responded

April 6, 2023Let’s do start with the glue that holds this building together, literally, MISS Carley! She is the face of Birge and Held. The girls in office have been nothing but respectful, kind and courteous and I’m a resident of 3.5 years. Since she runs multiple sites, she makes herself readily available to anyone who needs her. Now let’s talk about the boys, hardest workers in Franklin County. I always recommend this community to my friends that are moving from near and far. Great place to live!
February 24, 2023I have lived here for about 6 months now and I don’t have a swingle complaint! The office is easy to reach and they send out regular updates and emails so I never have any questions about what’s going on on the property! The neighbors seem nice, I haven’t had any issues and when I walk my dog someone always says hello. It’s also reassuring to always see the maintenance staff out and about, I know they keep busy and keep our community clean!Property Manager Responded

Mismanaged
February 15, 2023Alexander Parks was sold to Birge and Held, a scummy company which puts profits far ahead of service. They so poorly planned the aquisition that when they bought the property, they lacked enough employees to actually run it - leaving residents in a lurch. Garbage regularly overflows the dumpster, rendering it impossible to use. Employees entered my locked apartment during the day without notice while I was in a work meeting because they incompetently thought that it was a display unit. During my ...time leasing my garbage disposal broke, causing a leak and rendering me unable to use my kitchen. Since Birge and Held left the maintenance number on the resident app as the old management company's number, I had to go through a wild goose chase to actually find the maintenance number. Once I finally got through to emergency maintenance they did not show up for another two days. Two months after I moved out, I received a letter from a debt collection agency on behalf of Alexander Parks which did not mention why I owe money. Alexander Parks never contacted me about money owed prior to the debt collection notice. Upon contacting Alexendar Parks they told me it was for my last energy bill, but although I requested they forward me the email they claimed to have sent notifying me of the pending payment, they did not. Apartments are emptying out, and it's no wonder why.Property Manager Responded

Really-Really Bad Experience
February 7, 2023I never ever write reviews, but after these past couple of weeks I think everyone deserves a fair warning before signing a lease here. So, from the outside looking in Alexander Park appears to be a decent place to live; a big selling point is the complex's amenities (club house, gym, etc.). For starters the gym hasn't been cleaned in months, there haven't been wipes to disinfect the equipment after-use for at least two weeks, the water jugs have been empty for at least 2-months and the gym ...bathroom currently has urine all over the toilet and there are no paper towels or toilet paper to speak of. Apartment wise, we've had a huge bug problem (ants/ spiders) for weeks now, despite being visited by Pest Control a month ago. Also, the walls in the unit are extremely thin, I can hear every single word that my neighbors say in the bedroom and it is very difficult to sleep (esp. if said neighbors are night owls). Our apartment was absolutely filthy upon move-in, so much so that they literally sent the cleaners back in for another go. Finally, the people in the office are very hard to get ahold of if you work regular daylight hours, they are supposed to be open from 10-6 and I've stopped in around 4 the past couple of days and the office was already closed/ locked-up.Property Manager Responded

Our gym is closed on Wednesday’s from 8am-12pm, per communication given to all residents indicating a closure specifically for deep cleaning. After that time, the gym re-opens for our residents to use. The office staff stocks the gym and restrooms on a daily, as needed basis. Our office hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-6pm and on Saturday’s from 10am-2pm. If there is not a staff member present upon your arrival, there is a sign-in sheet to fill out in the event we’ve missed you due to being with another resident or prospect. We do not have records of these complaints being taken to the office in person, via email, in resident survey responses, or in the resident portal. We ask that you stop by the office, call, or leave us a message so that we can better assist you and understand the issues mentioned.

New management is horrible
July 1, 2022This was a great place to live in while Champion properties managed. Once Birge and Held took over it has gone downhill FAST. They genuinely have no idea how to manage this apartment complex. The trash by the mail lockers is always full and stinky. The grounds are unkempt. The staff is nowhere to be found half the time. Their office hours are 9-5 M-F, so it makes it nearly impossible to talk if you have any issues. I would think twice about moving here. *Beware* New ownership doesn't know how to run an apartment
June 15, 2022April 2022 Champion sold the property to an out of state asset group. The new management doesn't exist, the won't staff any of the apartments they purchased. What once was a great place to live completely changed overnight with this Birge and Held group. Look at their website and you'll see all the bragging about how many properties they own. The office has been abandoned since they took over. They refuse to answer the phone and return any voicemails. Lucky to get a response by email. Trash ...overflowing, grounds are cleaned once a week when it used to be everyday. They say they are understaffed, this is really not my problem. Birge and Held decided to purchase apartments without consideration for staffing. Why would a company make an investment in apartments without considering staffing FIRST, this is a very poor business model.Property Manager Responded

Great Place to Live
January 14, 2022I have had a great living experience here for the 6 months. Maintenance is included in rent and is incredibly helpful. The facilities are nice, including the gym, pool, lounge area, and community Starbucks coffee maker. Great experience for 2+ yeares
November 25, 2021Me and my roommate have lived here for 2+ years and our experience has been great. There really aren't many issues that occur in our apartments besides the occasional power outage. The community managers are quick to respond when we have an issue though and maintenance has gotten to our apartment in 1-2 days.
