BEEN A MONTH AND I LOVE IT!

Well... I have officially been here for a full month (wanted to get a few weeks in before I confirmed my initial impressions and write a review) and I can't say enough great things about this place. To start, my initial salesperson who gave me the tour and closed the deal was Shani. What a delight. Overall my whole experience from first walking in the office, to move in day, to day to day interactions with the office has been fantastic. Shani, Cathy and Kim couldn't be more accommodating. ...
All of my basic 'new resident" requests and questions were handled timely and professionally. As for as the actual place- it's great. The atmosphere, the other residents, the location and the amenities are great for the value. The South Park neighborhood has so much to offer, and this place is a very reasonable choice in a VERY nice neighborhood. Keep up the good work ladies!!!!

Wonderful Experience

We have lived here over two years and couldn’t be more pleased. The building and grounds are well maintained and the staff is always friendly and responsive to all requests. Monthly social gatherings are provided so you have an opportunity to get to know your neighbors. The location couldn’t be better with numerous restaurants, shopping and business needs close by. We strongly recommend anyone planning on moving to this part of Charlotte to check out Ashley Square.

If you don't smoke, don't live here

Although I have a "non-smoking" unit, all of the neighbor's smoke flows straight into my apartment. The place reeks. There are balconies and you would think the smokers would use them... They don't. The odor and residue is in my closet and pantry. Ugh! The staff smokes. So, don't expect much. It is not the finest place to live. There aren't any amenities. If you smoke, however, this is paradise.

Ashley Square Apartments in South Park is a wonderful community. They have really nice modern apartments with spacious floor plans and balconies. There are several amenities, such as a 24 hour business center, fitness center and media room. There is also a very nice pool and gas grills that residents may use all year round. The leasing staff is also very helpful and friendly. They really want to make sure that all residents are happy. There are also monthly community events for residents at ...
the Rusty Bucket Restaurant across the street. Residents get together, meet and enjoy a nice meal and a great atmosphere. The maintenance staff at Ashley Square is great too. The maintenance techs are friendly and knowledgeable and make repairs quickly and efficiently. I would refer my family and friends to this property for an apartment. The location is ideal too--right in the heart of South Park and just a short walk to shops and restaurants.

Moved in a little over a month ago. Fantastic building in even better location. 50 ft from Whole Foods and across the street from the South Park Mall. Service is exceptional. Apartments are specious. A lot more affordable than its neighbours. Best kept secret in South Park.

A Mess !! Watchout for dreadful surprises

Terrible experiences as soon as I moved in. I moved in just a day ago and they charged me for that. As I moved in late in the evening, was not able to put in the parking sticker on the car. Next day morning I went to get my car and I got to know it way towed, and the ruthless towing company charged 225 dollars to release the car. Also, Apartment is full of spiders !!!!

DON'T DO IT...

Great location and that is all. The staff in the front office will say ANYTHING to get you to lease, which includes lying about termination of the lease in the event of a job transfer. As for the apartment, the water pressure DOES NOT EXIST. All the common areas smell of pot and there is trash and dirty diapers left in the common areas and stairways of the building. They hold 25% of their units for low income housing, but they will not disclose that to you at the time of the tour. The staff ...
in the office is friendly, but they will lie to you, give you verbal confirmation on things, but then when it needs to happen, they pull out a lengthy lease which they DON'T go over with you at the time of signing. If they weren't "duping" you into leasing an apartment and the place was not dirty and smelling of weed at ALL TIMES, it would not be terrible. Can't stress this part enough, there is NO WATER PRESSURE, which includes your kitchen and bathroom. Something you may not realize how important it is until you are not able to clean dishes and hot water keeps from coming out. I had maintenance come out to look at it. There was a note on my kitchen counter that said they were there and although they acknowledged the water pressure was extremely low, they stated "that is how it is and standard for the water in all units of the building." Plenty of other great communities in Charlotte to rent, don't let them lie to get you in an apartment here. And as for "preferred employers", don't let them go into that, that is where most of the lying starts.

Loving it

I had concerns about downsizing from my house to an apartment last year. After several visits to Ashley Square, I decided to move in there. On each visit the staff was nice and accommodating. The apartment size that I chose was just right for me and the things I wasn't putting into storage. Since I moved in last year, the staff has continued to be gracious. I do not miss the upkeep of a home. Now maintenance comes and changes filters and kitchen lights. No more yard work either! When I am in my ...
apartment, I almost forget that I am not in my house anymore. I do not hear my neighbors; although I do see them on the elevators and they are always really friendly so far. Parking was another area of concern because I am used to having a 2 car garage. Honestly, no matter what time I get home, I always find a parking space. It may not always be as close to the elevator as I prefer, but it is never far either - even with groceries. I really enjoy being in a community and being so close to the best Harris Teeter in Charlotte, Whole Foods, South Park, and tons of restaurants; plus the airport, since I travel a few times a year. There are other places in the area, but gated and covered parking was important to me, as well as the friendliness of the staff, the size of the property with # of people and apartments, and hidden costs. Don't like being nickel and dimed. Some places quote a price and add on other required monthly fees. Of course nowhere is perfect, but I do not regret my decision to move to Ashley Square at all. And I'm kind of picky.

Look elsewhere

This place is in a good location and that is about all it has to offer. To start, the air conditioning barely works, the water pressure is awful, and all the appliances and other items (i.e. cabinets, lights) are cheap. Also, the apartment takes housing vouchers, and you definitely can tell. Common areas smell of pot, people are low brow/rude, and the amentities are cheap. The apartment definitely does not fit what you would expect for South Park. I cannot wait till my lease expires.

I moved into Ashley Square Apartments 3 years ago when I married my wife and she was already a current tenant. She has has been there for a total of 5 years now. Though the rent has gone up, that is nothing we can complain about since they have accommodated pricing for us since we are basically veterans of the building. Love that there's a covered and clean parking deck. Hallway carpets can use some steam cleaning; stairways can be reviewed every so often for random trash but otherwise our ...
