Think twice before living at Axton

I’m giving Axton Apartments two stars because my experience living here was extremely frustrating. The elevator was broken for over two months, which was a major inconvenience. I also had water pouring through my ceiling, and when I called the emergency number, no one came or handled it properly. The light fixture was not put back afterward, so I ended up having to fix it myself.
Several amenities were also unreliable. The pool and hot tub were out of use often, and the snack room was never ...
stocked the entire year I lived there. On top of that, our oven was broken for over a month, and maintenance took far too long to fix it.
One of the most upsetting situations was when an employee confronted me after hours for sitting outside. He argued with me, yelled at me, and made me feel uncomfortable and threatened while telling me to meet him in the lobby the next morning. Overall, the building has potential, but the lack of urgency, poor communication, and repeated maintenance issues made my experience very disappointing.

I moved in this year and I absolutely love it. The coffee machines, the gym, hot tub, the whole 12th floor, everything is so nice. The apartments are spacious and modern, each room has their own bathroom, it’s amazing. Definitely recommend!

The building is nice and amenities are good. Kind of far from a lot of the classes but you know that moving in. Lots of cement and even the ceilings are not painted in our apartment.
I gave it one star because of the billing and management. It seems like they set a rent price and then nickel and dime you about everything. I did not know building insurance is not part of your rent. They charge the tenant to insure their building, it has no benefit to the tenant. Also, another insurance policy for ...
resident insurance contents which I did not know about and ask about. Electric fees other than the cost of electric. A convenience Fee to pay your rent with an ACH. "Rentistry" fee which we never asked for.
I asked staff when we moved in and there answer was they don't even know what the fees were for. I called and emailed and finally got some answers.
What I am saying is they need to disclose the real cost of the unit before tenants move in. Then we can see if it is the right fit for us and not have surprises when we are already in there building.

For any confusion about what was included or not included in rent, I’m genuinely sorry. In future leases, all fees will be outlined more clearly before you're asked to sign anything so that you can make an informed decision about whether this living situation suits your needs and budget.
