Overall Negative Experience
September 21, 2025I've had several problems with the unit since moving in - most of which stem from not performing regular maintenance. The biggest problem is the plumbing. The pipes are not insulated or secured properly. This results in them making extremely loud sounds due to temperature changes. It has been awful being woken up at 2 am or 3 am whenever it becomes too hot or too cold. Management has been informed about this numerous times and never follows through with repairs. If you don't luck out with a good ...unit, expect any request for serious maintenance to be ignored.Property Manager Responded

This place is a joke
June 17, 2025We moved into Berkshire Preserve in 2018 with high hopes. Back then, it felt like a safe, well-maintained community—clean common areas, responsive and caring staff, and a sense of security that made us feel at home. Sadly, that version of the complex seems long gone. Over the years, we’ve endured a steady decline in basic amenities and overall livability. Let’s start with the repeated pool closures during peak summer months—a basic feature that’s advertised but often unavailable when it matters ...most. Then there’s the parcel center, which has malfunctioned so often that it’s become a running joke among residents. One particular failure—just two days before my daughter’s birthday party—meant we couldn’t even access the decorations we ordered. That’s the kind of thing you don’t forget. Speaking of forgettable, the maintenance team seems to have done exactly that with air vent filters, trash pickup, and elevator service. We’ve had multiple elevator outages (fun with a toddler and groceries!), and the trash situation is borderline unsanitary—overflowing bins, bags dragging down hallways, and the constant smell of neglect. Let’s talk parking:Good luck. You’ll likely end up circling the lot or walking across the complex, which is just what you want at night or with kids in tow. Oh, and the refrigerator saga. We moved in excited about the large fridge with a bottom freezer. When it died, management replaced it with a tiny temp unit—completely inadequate, especially for storing collected breast milk. After much back-and-forth, we got an old side-by-side fridge from another unit that’s been leaking on the floor ever since. Apparently, "fixing it" was never a priority. The mail thefts and safety concerns have only made things worse. I emailed management after one particularly unsettling incident in our building, but the response was underwhelming, as usual. The dog park, another selling point, is now just a muddy, neglected patch that feels more like an afterthought than an amenity. To be fair, there have been recent attempts at improvement, and we do appreciate those. But after years of paying rent on time, caring for our unit, and trying to be patient, we’ve simply reached the end of our rope. If you’re considering moving in, please do your research. This place might still look nice on the surface, but the reality is a long list of disappointments, ignored maintenance, and empty promises.Property Manager Responded

Terrible Management
March 14, 2023The Berkshire Reserve property itself is really good but the property manager, assistant property manager, and team do a terrible job at communication with residents. A guy in the office is very rude when it comes to answering questions. When they have issues with tenants, communication is fast and they expect actions to be taken immediately. When tenants have issues with the property, good luck trying to get the issues resolved quickly for you. The elevator in building #13 has been down for ...over a month and the only communication received by tenants was a piece of paper on the elevator saying out of order. There has been no communication or updates and there are residents living on the 4th floor of the building. Imagine paying rent and walking up and down 4 flights of stairs everyday. This shows a lack of empathy and care for the tenants that occupy the complex.Property Manager Responded

New Management is Horrible
April 21, 2021I lived in this apartment for 2 years and dealt with both of the management companies. The first was was amazing and really cared about the complex and the tenants. They made an effort to keep everything nice and comfortable for everyone. The new company took over right when covid started and they were horrible from the start and the complex just declined as time went on. They were super unresponsive to issues, and if they would reply they would just say they would look into it but nothing ever ...got done. I had problems with my upstairs neighbor the whole time she lived there and they wouldn't ever do anything about her. She would play loud music all hours of the night, her 2 dogs stayed out on her balcony and barked constantly - literally all day and night, and the cherry on top was when she started letting them pee on her balcony and then she would dump it off onto my patio. That is finally when I decided I had to move or we were going to have problems. The courtesy officer was a joke as well, the 1 time I actually talked to him (usually no one answered) he just told me they couldn't make her do anything and I would just have to deal with the noise. While I understand you can't make people do things, you can kick them out when they continue to break the rules and disrespect other residents. I e-mailed and called the office several times to try to get the issues dealt with and they rarely responded let alone did anything about it. I don't recommend moving to this complex. Hopefully a new company will take it over and things will improve because it's too expensive to live like that. I feel bad for whoever moved into my apartment after me, but I hope they were more confrontational and maybe went and told the neighbor something themselves because she shouldn't have been allowed to continue living there with the way she behaved.Property Manager Responded

Not Recommended
February 15, 2021The management is very unprofessional. You can not reach the manager when needed. The policies and the applications are different than the written documents. The move out is pain, they charge even if there is single piece of dust somewhere in house. The neighbors are loud enough to wake you up in the middle of the night. The traffic inside the complex is too much, no speeding bumps, people are fast and make noises in late nights. The maintenance staff is OK but there are not enough staff for the ...complex, so the wait is Huge, at least 5-7 days for non emergency things, by the time they come to help, the issues becomes emergency item and get worse. Parking
November 22, 2020The parking here looks good at first but if you’re coming home from work after 7pm, it’s nearly impossible to find parking. I’ve lived here for almost 6 months and every day I see people parking on the fire lane. When I address the parking to them, they only gave me a solution by getting a garage which is additional $100 or more a month on top of your rent. Horrible Staff
December 29, 2018I am just appalled with this place! I went in today because I wanted to see an actual apartment. Upon arrival I was greeted by Will, who stated that he was in the midst of a report that had to be completed and turned in by 4:00 pm. He asked if I could come back at 5:00 pm and continued by saying that I should have called to make an appointment. I informed him I wasn’t aware that I needed to make one. He informed me that although they do accept walk-ins “it’s just the chance you take of not being ...able to be helped due to not having an appointment”. So I informed him since I have driven all the way here and it was the only day that was convenient for me I’ll wait. I waited for 25 mins on him to complete a report and then he got up from the desk several times and assisted someone else that came in. Interesting right? Will came over and stated that he could help once I finished my call. I informed him I’d been waiting and ready and handed him my license. He then told me he would not take me on a tour to see an apartment while I was on the phone! It shocked me firstly because of the tone he used and secondly as I felt me being on the phone had nothing to do with me viewing the apartment. So after telling him how his professionalism is awful, he throws my license on the table. I was livid. I asked for the managers contact information and corporate because I could not believe that they allow someone with this type of behavior representing their company. When I begin speaking with the other leasing agent Will became very loud and belligerent. To add insult to injury he made the comment that I had been there three times prior, but I’d only seen a two bedroom while they were still building and I wanted to see a different floor plan this time as they are finished building. I have sent other potential customers because I thought the property was nice, but NEVER AGAIN! It’s pathetic and a disgrace for anyone to carry themselves like that no matter what type of setting they are in! I will not move here and I DO NOT RECOMMENDED it to anyone.
