What a mess

I'm not a resident but I called and asked for a tour of the facility. I made an appointment with Rick and when I arrived the office was locked. Almost 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment someone from the office finally saw me at the door and opened it. The lady who talked to me made me seem like I was a burden for showing up. The man Rick I scheduled the appointment with apparently had the day off so she was forced to take me. On the tour I noticed all of the complex looked run down. The ...

buildings need painted and exterior wood looked rotted away. The apartment I toured seemed nice and updated and I would have signed a lease right then but the woman showing me around was just so rude it left a bad taste in my mouth. It looked like they were updating the property because we ran into a million workers.

I’ve been here 7 years and i can truly say i love this place… I’m not the best tenant and I’m sure I’ve put them through it by this point, but can honestly say i have a lot of respect for the lady’s up front, they work very hard and still work with me with whatever the problem is.. if something’s wrong in my unit within a day there already on it.. 7 years later there really isn’t anything bad i can say about this place, they are usually on top of it here. The apartment is overall ok. No major issues on the day to day, except in the summertime. AC breaks down every summer over and over and they have yet to replace it. My ceiling has also leaked twice. Once, while out of town it sort of flooded parts of my kitchen. Don’t live close to the courtyard or clubhouse. You will never have any peace and quiet no matter what time of day. Lots of loud parties thrown every weekend, especially Sundays because office staff is not there. Your AC bill will be very ...

high due to poor insulation and old buildings. Not worth it. I’m leaving when my lease is up.

Friendly and efficient office staff. I've relocated within the property twice and they have worked with me to the max. My deposit refunds have been quickly returned and more than fair. Great place to live.

Not worth it.

I have lived Birdcage Village Apartments for over 2 years (I am in the process of leaving). I only chose this apartment due to the fact they had availability when I left my wife. They offer way less amenities than their competitors, even though they claim to charge “market value” rates. There are no washer and dryers in any of the apartment units, except for the 3 bedroom condos. Also, while they do provide you with 1 remote to the entry gate, they will only register local numbers in the call box ...

(don’t lose your remote). The property management staff are hit and miss for professionalism, however the manager is a piece of work. I made the mistake when I loaned my car keys to a friend, because I accidentally locked myself out of my apartment. The manager was the only person manning the leasing consultant desks on this day. I explained my situation to her, and she was very rude to me. She said, “ I don’t recognize you!” like she is honestly going to have a memory of every person that stays Birdcage Village Apartments. She then asked for my ID, (which I feel would have been a better first response), and went to get a copy of my apartment key. Before choosing to stay here, please research other options available to you.

They want you to earn a minimum of 15 dollars an hour to rent their smallest one bedroom. Basically 3 times one month rent. If you don't quite make that you can get a co-signer who earns FOUR times I guess they have had a lot of people bailing on them. It f you get tips your screwed they don't count that. Honestly if I made 2400 a month I'd move it n to a nicer place. Get real BirdCage

The larger one bedroom is very spacious with lots of closet space. I really enjoy the apartment itself, the staff is another thing, though. I would suggest video taping EVERY conversation that you have with any of the staff members. While it seems like they are really listening and concerned, they are not. Especially Alicia. She was extremely aggressive, took on rude tones during multiple conversations, and when she gave me incorrect information about the apartment and I confronted her about it ...

she had no recollection of the three previous conversations we'd had and claimed to have never said anything close to what she had initially told me. When I had gotten some more misinformation from a staff member who no longer works there and I went to talk about being overcharged for rent the woman kept insisting "Forget about it, don't worry, just ignore it." She said it literally 7 times while never addressing my issue of being overcharged. I was even told the manager would call and, unless it takes two months for the manager to get around to making a phone call, I haven't heard back. Like I said, the apartment itself is fine. The neighborhood IS filled with a large amount of children who stay up later than I do and play into the small hours of the night. But the biggest problem would be the staff. They're very friendly but also very good at manipulating the conversation away from you getting the correct information. Videotape your conversations, record phone calls, cover all of your bases and I'm sure this will be a lovely fit.

I've lived here for just under a year and am very pleased with these apartments. The location is really great, central to numerous shopping and dining options. The office staff is helpful and they are very timely in terms of responding to maintenance requests. The water and water heater is shared for a building so there are times that it takes a LONG time to get hot water. They are old buildings, but kept clean and well maintained. For the price, you can't beat Birdcage village.
