May 7, 2026 - Review from Apartments.comChanged my rental agreement mid year without telling me. Charged me four months rent + took all of my deductible when I moved out. First said that I could find a sub-leaser since I wasn't sure I could commit to a full year's rent in March of 2025. Said they would even help find one if I had trouble doing so. A co worker was on a sublease in the complex as well. Next lease cycle started in July. Re-signed the rental agreement for the year. Then when I needed to leave in January 2026 the property ...said the owners had changed the agreement and no sub-lease could be used. Never notified me of this change so when I went in to try to let them know I had a sub-leaser ready, 'this is not allowed. You owe us the next four months rent.' Apartment wasn't perfect when I moved in, but charged me for the repairs to it after I moved out. Thought the apartment was actually in better shape since I had cleaned it when I moved in and kept it in near immaculate condition. Had several submissions for fixes that were never completed. And when I was turning in my keys - 'oh, the maintenance man was just there' - guess he has a cloak of invisibility. I think it's their policy to charge you when you leave --for things that they charged the previous renter as well - and didn't bother fixing. Not worth the hassle and still makes me angry over the bait and switch tactics. Have contacted the Better Business Bureau.Read More

July 29, 2025 - Review from Apartments.comExtremely disappointed in the handling of our recent A/C outage. Our air conditioning went out Sunday night — understandably, these things happen. But what followed was unacceptable. On Monday, we were told a specialist would come out, but not until Tuesday — despite a heat index of 110°F on both days. We later learned that only one HVAC company was contacted and no further effort was made to find alternatives. This lack of urgency put our safety at risk, as our apartment reached temperatures ...near 90°F indoors. No hotel accommodations or meaningful alternatives were offered. Instead, we were given a small window unit that was installed incorrectly and did little to help. When I voiced concern, the manager showed no empathy — no apology — and simply said she "hoped the fans and window unit would do the trick." Spoiler: they didn’t. This experience shows a complete disregard for tenant wellbeing during extreme weather. If you're considering living here, be aware that you may be on your own when basic needs like safe indoor temperatures aren’t being met.Read More
My cleaning skills weren't enough for them but they could also use some work
August 28, 2024 - Review from Apartments.comI would say overall I had an okay experience living there but there are some things that since moving out I feel should be posted so anyone moving in can make an informed decision. There have been times that maintenance has been extremely slow when dealing with issues. For example there was a broken fridge that was removed from an apartment that was left out in the hallway for about a month. There were also several weeks that the keypad to the door was broken and I heard from other tenants in ...other buildings that they also experienced this issue. I will also say that despite them cleaning once a week there are cobwebs in corners of the ceilings and fluid from the AC dripping down a wall. I moved into a brand new building when I first moved in and in three years it had accumulated more wear and tear than expected. While this isn't specially management's fault people are pretty awful at picking up after their dogs so make sure you stick to the sidewalks. Speaking of cleaning I did try my best to clean my apartment but they hired cleaners anyways. I wish I would have not invested in cleaning supplies and my time into cleaning. According to them I did not make a reasonable effort to rework the dwelling which sounds like I left trash heaped to the ceiling so I guess my hours of cleaning on top of moving was a wasted effort. I have learned my lesson and now would give the advice to just let them hire cleaners since they will do so anyways and take it from your deposit.Read More
Great Place to Live!
May 1, 2024 - Review from Apartments.comI have lived in a handful of apartments in the Ames area, and Brick Towne is by far the best. On move in day, the place was spotless, which made the process easier. Whenever I needed maintenance, they responded quickly and efficiently. The facilities are well-kept and great. As an added plus, they're very active on their social media accounts and involve tenants in fun activities (i.e. giveaways, national day celebrations, food and treats, etc.). Overall, a great place to live!

The location is great, the grounds always look fantastic, it's pet friendly, and the admin are fun, enthusiastic, and genuine! I've been to 3 complexes and nothing comes close to beating Bricktown!

Also a lot of amenities to utilize: love using the pool and workout facilities as well as meeting in the Clubhouse for events. The upper level apartments also have a balcony which is a great area to go outside to study or just relax. There are also designated dog areas as well as many places to walk around. Highly recommend these apartments!
