Serious moisture and mold concerns

I would not recommend living at this apartment community.
During my time here, I experienced several ongoing issues:
Poor construction and pest problems. I regularly dealt with ants, millipedes, and spiders inside my apartment, and I occasionally saw snakes in the common areas. Residents are charged for pest control, but despite working from home, my apartment was never treated while I lived there.
Very little sound insulation.The ceilings are extremely thin, and noise from upstairs neighbors, ...
especially heavy footsteps, was a daily occurrence.
Train traffic. Freight trains run on both sides of the property, and there were times when trains blocked both exits, making it impossible to leave until they passed.
Serious moisture and mold concerns. I reported excessive moisture in my apartment in July, but the issue was not addressed in a timely manner. I requested a transfer because of the condition of the unit, and it took approximately four months to resolve. During that time, I developed persistent headaches and breathing problems. I also had to throw away multiple pairs of shoes, clothing, and books because they were damaged by mold and mildew. I was not reimbursed for any of these losses.
After moving out, I received charges for cleaning, paint touch-ups, and a month-to-month premium. I dispute these charges. I vacated the apartment before my lease ended, and I have dated photos and videos showing the condition of the apartment at move-out, including that it was clean and that there was no damage requiring painting.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this property or its management. Because I believe the unresolved moisture issues present a potential health concern, I have also decided to file a complaint with the appropriate local health authorities for review.

My experience so far…

I’ve been living at Broadstone Oliver for several months, and my experience has been a mix of positives and negatives. The staff is friendly, maintenance is quick (usually 24–48 hours), and the amenities are clean with good community events. The location is also convenient with stores and food options nearby.
However, there are some issues worth noting. The train noise is constant since the building is between two tracks, and the elevators/security doors break more often than expected for a new ...
property. There are also several monthly add-on fees through Greystar that increase the total cost of rent.
My biggest concern was a package theft inside the building. UPS delivered a package directly to my door in a controlled-access hallway on October 11th, and it was stolen sometime before October 15th. I filed a police report, but management stated “Broadstone Oliver is not responsible for missing packages,” even though this delivery wasn’t through Fetch. I also learned there are no cameras in the hallways, so there was no footage to help.
Overall, it’s a decent community with good staff and amenities, but residents should be aware of the noise, maintenance issues, hidden fees, and the need to take extra precautions with packages.

We really appreciate your feedback both positive and other areas where you would like us to provide more for you and other residents. Its a standard practice to not have cameras in the hallway due to privacy of other residents. The implementation of Fetch is a great service to provide an in person direct delivery to each resident for their packages. Please accept our apologies of the delay in resolving our third elevator repair due to delays in international parts arrival needed to complete repairs. We would continue to work hard to maintain our 3 elevators in operations for our residents. Broadstone Oliver is a gorgeous community. The property is immaculate and the leasing agents are very friendly and accommodating. It is very close to tons of great restaurants and everything one could need as far as shopping. It is very conveniently located (5 minute drive) to downtown Houston, and close to all the local parks and recreation areas. Also very close to The Heights and Memorial, and easy to get to other areas of the city, such as River Oaks and The Galleria.

While the Broadstone Oliver has beautiful apartment units and nice amenities, there are a few issues that aren’t communicated straight up, including the fact that there is an ant problem throughout the property.
