Bad Experience
December 19, 2021Lived here for the past year and would never recommend it to anyone. Fire alarms went off continuously - at least 2-3 times every month there were false alarms necessitating everyone vacate the buildings for upwards of an hour or more. Very disruptive and NEVER resolved. Management did NOTHING to help.Property Manager Responded

Not worth the money
June 29, 2021I need to explain my rating on reliability and responsiveness. When there is an issue with the lack of security or a package is missing, their actual response time is quite fast but It’s always the same answer “ thank you for reaching out, we realize there’s a problem, and if you have a major security concern, call the Long Beach Police Department. Cars are constantly broken into and packages stolen. There is a courtesy security patrol but calling them “security” is a stretch of the imagination. ...Residents are charged $100 a month per space, per vehicle. My car has been broken into twice. There are no cameras in the garage and again, “security” patrol can usually be found in the hub eating lunch or in their cars smoking. We are charged for water, gas to heat the water, water waste, trash, and sewage. This is in addition to your actual rent. We are also charged $95 for a technology package that you cannot opt out of. They recently switched to keyless entry; however, the Chirp system isn’t always reliable. In the event you need a fob to get in because it’s not working, you are charged a fee. The elevators and hallways are frequently defecated in by pets, although maintenance will come clean it up. The only plus about living here is that the maintenance department is spot on. I feel management could do more to make this a safer community to live in. Granted, it’s a corporate-owned building, but management should advocate for the residents when it comes to building security. Needless to say, the turnover of residents it’s substantial.Property Manager Responded

DO NOT MOVE HERE
February 20, 2020This is the worst experience I have ever had at an apartment complex. Their renovations have been an incredible inconvenience to me as a resident. The elevators continually reek of dog pee. I had an emergency and had to utilize a rental vehicle to get to work. Camden proceeded to tow my vehicle from the garage even though I pay upwards of $100 each month to park there. I asked to receive a few free months of parking just to offset the $300 cost of retrieving my vehicle and was met with ...complete resistance from Gilbert the Bookkeeper and Stacy. They were completely unprofessional and have made my overall experience here that much worse. I am in the process of issuing a complaint with Better Business Bureau and pursuing other avenues. I would not advise anyone with other options to move here.Property Manager Responded
February 25, 2020Hi Luis, Thank you for speaking to us previously and allowing us to explain our parking policy. As we mentioned, we must be fair and consistent with anyone who is towed from the garage without a parking permit. It is unfortunate that you parked a vehicle in the garage without a parking permit. There are parking signs at the entrances of our garage gates as well in multiple locations in the parking garage, and it is also stipulated in your signed lease agreement. We wish we would have been notified in advance that you had a rental car so we could have provided a guest parking pass for you. Our residents are grateful that parking is enforced due to any unauthorized vehicles using the garage. Our improvements were well addressed prior to your move in of September 2019 and we wish you’ve voiced your concerns prior to this incident. We are now at the tail end of the project and we are looking forward to having one of the best fitness centers in Long Beach, two upgraded pool areas, ...clubhouse, and The HUB that will feature a kitchenet and conference room. Avoid like the plague
October 12, 2019Absolutely horribly managed property. You'll be forced to pay for internet in your rent that doesn't work forcing you to pay for additional services elsewhere. Security is basically non existent so expect to have your car windows smashed. There's constant construction so you'll also get plenty of noise and dust. Stay away from this place and any Camden property. Camden is a horrible company. They could care less about their residents.Property Manager Responded
October 15, 2019Hello, Our Technology Package which is Wifi internet and cable TV has been in place for 2 years and is a really good deal. If any resident shall experience any type of issue, we always encourage calling Spectrum for 24/7 support. Having resources in place for troubleshooting is available for any utility service and we are happy to have them always available for our residents. We have always had courtesy patrol and hearing your comment about this is disheartening and not true. We are so excited for the amazing improvements being made to the community and our residents are too. Every year we invest into the community so we can keep the longevity going. 2019 has been our best year yet for upgrades! New lush landscaping has already been in place at the pool of building 2 and we can’t wait for the rest of the planters to be filled. It’s going to look lovely! The Best! (For many reasons)
August 2, 2019I moved here from Studio City and thought there was no way I would like it here better… wrong! The walk-score is absolutely incredible; the boardwalk/pier, The Promenade, aquarium, convention center, and Pike Outlets are all walking-distance! There’s also a little wine bar, pizza parlor, convenience store, and hair salon in the courtyard. (The salon is called “The Den” and is incredible; got one of my best haircuts ever there). I walk around here more than I did back in Studio City (the weather ...down here is much cooler than in the valley, so walking outside is bearable). Also, for some reason there are so many Starbucks’ in the area, so you will never be deprived of coffee. It’s surprisingly quiet, as the complex is in a nice little nook downtown. It’s also extremely BIKE FRIENDLY!! You can easily rent bikes and ride them along the beach or around town. At first I was worried about how big the building is, and worried that I would become a number. Interestingly enough, I have come to know the staff here MORE than my first apartments (which all had no more than 12 units total). Denisse gave us the initial tour, and we felt at home ever since we walked in. The Camden staff are extremely attentive and get back to you right away. The printing center was down the other day, and Denisse offered to print my documents for me (so sweet)! Rene (one of the maintenance workers) is SO courteous and works so hard if something needs fixing!! They go above and beyond for tenants here. I love how secure it is with the gated parking, and needing a key to use the elevator to get inside. The gym is also really good — it has all of the basics and the equipment is in good condition. Very clean as well. Amazon packages get delivered to your door, which is nice because it’s a larger complex. There is also a pool and outdoor lounge area, and conference rooms you can rent! You really can’t go wrong here; especially for the price, service, and location. It has everything you need, and the staff take care of your needs!! Started out well, not anymore!
July 9, 2019Well, I liked living here in the beginning. The apartments are pretty decent and the pricing is alright, but the management is an absolute train wreck. Camden completely neglects to have any form of functional security on site, resulting in nightly car break-ins, homeless people getting into buildings and sleeping in hallways, and violent vagrants running around the parking garage at all hours of the night. They also force us into paying for a "technology package" which absolutely does not ...work. I have not had working cable since day one, and the internet speeds are not good enough for streaming low quality video, when and if the internet actually connects. Camden puts the responsibility on us to sit on the phone with Spectrum for HOURS to try and get some sort of resolution which ultimately does nothing. As a result, half of the residents have to shell MORE money out of pocket to the same provider to get their own internet service, which -- shockingly -- works perfectly! The residents CONSTANTLY air their grievances to the staff on our community forum and we constantly get slapped in the face with "you guys have to be personally responsible for your own safety and for your own internet" in a series of insulting canned, copy and pasted responses. Camden is just another example of a public company who puts profit over everything else, and the residents suffer as a result. Do NOT live here.Property Manager Responded

Terrible place
May 29, 2018Camden Harbor View in Long Beach, CA is absolutely the worst place I have ever lived in my entire life! I have been renting an apartment in building five for a year and I have hardly ever had a decent night's sleep nor been able to relax on the weekends. The apartments face a noisy 6 story parking garage with incessant honking and traffic. The apartments are so cheaply made that I can hear every footstep of the neighbors upstairs. Nightly the neighbors play their stereo or TV so loud that ...the base reverberates through the entire apartment. There is a dog play area in the center of the courtyard which reeks of urine no matter how often they wash it. There is no security in the building's parking garage so thieves routinely break windows of cars and destroy property. Save your money and do not rent at Camden Harbor ViewProperty Manager Responded

IF ONLY THE APARTMENTS WERE NOT SO POORLY DESIGNED
September 5, 2017First, management does an above average job. Friendly, considerate, and responsive. Unfortunately, petty crime has moved into the complex, with some of the cause being new residents who are obviously not being properly screened. There's also a homeless problem being directly across from City Hall. Unacceptable conditions for the high rent. The problem. Whoever designed the apartments, must have previously designed prison cells. Living areas are exceedingly small, with the average bedroom being ...smaller than 9 x 12. A 1000 sq. ft. apartment can easily have less than 650 sq. ft. of usable living space. Alternatively, the bathrooms and closets utilize tons of wasted space. An apartment of that size should not have gigantic bathrooms and giant walk in closets. The builders had no comprehension of the term "scale". Hall space is not properly minimized, a master bedroom, having 9 x 11 proportions, have closets that are 7 x 6 and bathrooms in the area of 9 x 7, thereby making them, together, larger than the bedroom itself. The layouts make the worst use of the available space. Don't blame the employees here for this problem. Just take a long, hard look at what you're not getting in what should be a well designed apartment. You can find smaller and less expensive apartments that are designed to make you feel like the 4 walls you're renting are not constantly on top of you.Property Manager Responded
September 7, 2017Hello, Thank you for the compliments to our staff. Our goal is to provide the best customer service at every point of contact and to make sure our residents feel listened to. At Camden, we have a universal screening policy and practice for all applicants who apply. We follow California Fair Housing Laws, and welcome anyone to apply over the age of 18. We started service with a new courtesy patrol company recently and we have seen improvements in service to the community and our residents. We have a patrol robot patrolling P1 of our parking garage as well as live courtesy patrol officers. At the moment, we are looking into adding an additional guard for added patrol. Our apartment homes were built in 2005 and the size of our apartments are very comparable to apartments built around the same time as well as new construction. September 30, 2015These apartment homes are a must for the person looking for fun, relaxation, and close community ties. They have two pool areas. One is designated the family pool for its heated water and proximity to the main office. The other located in building 5 is the Adult pool. Both are very well maintained with restrooms and a shower to rinse off before and after your swim. The staff is very helpful and always there to answer any questions you may have. The management hosts get-togethers for ...residents to enjoy the different tastes of Long Beach. The area is very close to popular restaurants and attractions. Five minute walking distance to Shoreline Village and the Beaches and local free transporation make these apartment homes the "Best Place to Live in Long Beach." The atmosphere is family oriented and the grounds are very well maintained. Convenience, Affordability and a Friendly Community
September 16, 2015I have lived in these apartments for almost a year and prior to moving here, my girlfriend lived here for almost 5 years. She always loved everything about it and now I see why. Not only is it within walking distance from all the bars, restaurants, shopping (boutiques, theatre,h &m, converse, Nike and so on) and everything else I could ask for in my city of residence, it is conveniently near the freeway where Los Angeles and Orange County are about 20-30 minutes away. The staff is awesome very ...accommodating and they become great acquaintances. If I want to stay within the complex community, we have a wine bar, convenience store, two restaurants and a cafe right downstairs. Neighbors are friendly and when we receive the wrong packages from the mailman, we just return it to the actual apartment. The apartments are spacious and tons of amenities including a dog park! CAMDEN IS AWESOME!!
September 11, 2015I've been living at the Camden buildings for over a year now and I loved every minute of it. They try and build at most a 10 minute walk from just about everything. Between the movies, restaurants and aquarium, there isn't a dull moment in Downtown Long Beach. The staff at Camden is great and the maintenance workers are amazing. Whenever I had an issue with the apartment, I would go online, create a work order and within 48 hours it is completely resolved whether I'm home or not!!
