May 21, 2026 - Review from Apartments.comlived at Cannon South Apartments and lost everything in the February 2024 fire. Watching your home burn down is traumatic enough, but what made it worse was the complete lack of accountability and support from management afterward. According to reports, the fire spread through multiple buildings and there were concerns raised about smoke alarms not going off in the first building affected. Residents were displaced overnight, many losing all of their belongings. What shocked me most was how ...little compassion or responsibility the complex showed to tenants after the disaster. Communication was poor, support was minimal, and residents were left trying to rebuild their lives largely on their own. Losing everything you own is devastating, and no tenant should feel abandoned afterward. I would strongly encourage anyone considering moving here to think carefully about safety, maintenance, and how management responds when residents go through a crisis. A nice leasing tour means nothing if the people running the property disappear when tenants need help the most.Read More

I love how easy it is to grab dinner at a nearby restaurant, run to the store, or hop on public transit without having to deal with long commutes. It makes living here super convenient and saves me so much time. Plus, the rent is very reasonable compared to other apartments in Austin—I honestly don’t think you can find better value for the area. I’ve been really happy living here.

Peaceful and Clean
May 5, 2023 - Review from Apartments.comI was only here the first 3rd of the year as I had to move, but my time here at Cannon South was lovely from beginning to end. The property manager Marie was very outgoing and helpful when I was signing my lease, and she was always very responsive during my stay. The complex itself is cute, small, and maintained very well. Though the star of the show has to go to my man HECTOR!! I have never experienced such fast maintenance and I don't think you can get any better unless the guy is standing ...outside your door at all times. If your AC breaks down during a heat wave, you definitely don't have to worry about being stuck in a miserably hot apartment. The only negative thing I can say is, if you're on a first floor apartment, bugs are a possibility. It's kind of inevitable wherever you are though, as I've had to realize. Management was quick to help though and they will send out pest control to spray INSIDE the apartment to really get the issue resolved. Now for my favorite thing about Cannon South overall: ... THE KITTIES! If you're a cat person like me this complex is heaven. They often roam around at night and they're friendly too! They also probably serve as secondary pest control!Read More

It was becoming difficult since most apartments were six months out from availability or the rent was extremely high, much more than what I was budgeting. I thought I was going to find roommates or pay a higher rent. Luckily I came across Cannon South Apartment, where Marie has been the most helpful person I have ever dealt with at any property. She made me feel right at home. ...She was even excited to show me the apartment the first time I saw it. I didn’t even get to see the place until I moved in. The property is so great. Its clean and well taken care of. The whole experience from calling the day I did and me getting a call back that day as well asl the paperwork emailed so I could apply and secure the apartment is how it should be at all properties.
