This management is horrible and impossible to get ahold of!
April 15, 2024DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!!! They completely screwed me when I moved out. I was over charged by over $1200 and it’s taken them 2 weeks and they don’t even have the check ready! And I’m being told it could take another week (or 3) because they only send the checks out when the employees get paid, which is every two weeks. South Oxford management is a joke!!!! You only talk to an answering machine and it takes forever before they return your call. Apartments are nice, South Oxford Management is complete ...trash.Property Manager Responded

June 8, 20221. Poor customer service 2. Lack of Transparency Some people have snakes as pet, I am not one of them. I cannot remember when I have lived in a place where Big snakes crawl around, and no one deemed it fit to explain that tenants could encounter snakes in the area be it “Guardian Snakes” or not. I was terrified when I encountered one, but the nonchalant attitude from the front desk representative spoke volume. Secondly, I was informed over the phone while I was preparing to move out at the end ...of my lease, after several back and forth calls due to the situation, as long as I moved out last day of March, 2022, I could put in a 30 day notice by Kathy. After a few weeks, I called to get my deposit Only for them to say whatever was said over the phone cannot be held as valid unless it is written. So, the apartment held back my deposit and charged me for some damages I never saw or they might have manufactured after I had the apartment sparkling clean- I was still billed for only God knows what, and they still want an extra amount, almost $800 after keeping my deposit of about $1330. Nit surprised, they were quick to sell the sell the $800 to debt collectors. Unfortunately, I do not have that money to pay dubious people. If they had been transparent to explain that the 30 day notice will not work, and if I chose to still move out, that I would be charged for April whether I stayed or not, then It would have been my choice, rather them trying to cheat hardworking residents of their money by being tricky and thinking it is a smart way to make extra money from people. If you are a new resident here, I would advise you do all your dealing in writings, make sure you check all the faults in the apartment and get them to fix it before you leave or while you are still in there- else you will be paying for damages you don’t even know exists. And those blinds…pull to make sure they are not falling on you especially when you are asleep. Don’t be fooled by the fresh paints. Thank you!Property Manager Responded
June 11, 2022We always appreciate feedback from our residents whether current or former, and we are disappointed to know that your experience was such an unsatisfactory one. Our lease contract is transparent and outlines all of the terms including notices and fees, and are signed by all parties. We also spend additional time reviewing the lease upon moving in and answering any questions our residents may have. All conversations are documented as well. We know this may not be the result you were hoping for but we must exercise fairness and consistency as we are legally unable to change any terms of the lease for anyone. With regard to snakes, our part of Florida is home to snakes, wild pigs, coyotes, alligators and other creatures. We know that some residents are fearful of these animals and we are not always their biggest fans, but we do stress the importance of staying away from wild animals. We are unable to control the habits and habitats of nature and ask that you use caution in the surroundings ...we share with animals. We thank you for taking the time to leave your review and ask that you please feel free to reach out to our team if you require further explanation of your charges.
