I lived in this apartment complex for over four years, and my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Upon deciding to move out, I had the unit pre-inspected by management, and I was assured my final balance would be $0. The lease clearly states that the life of the paint is two years and the carpet's life is five years. From day one, I covered the carpet with a plastic cover and foam tiles due to my allergies, ...
keeping it in pristine condition.
Imagine my shock when, weeks later, the leasing office informed me that I owed $683.29 for carpet cleaning, painting, and general cleaning. How can they charge me for painting when the lease states the paint's life is only two years? And how can a pre-inspection result in a clean slate, only to be followed by this outrageous bill? I have photos and videos to prove the condition of the carpet.
It's clear that the management is either incompetent or deliberately misleading. Irvine Company has a terrible reputation for being money-hungry, but this situation surpasses anything I could have imagined. They treat long-term tenants like me with utter disrespect, and it’s appalling that they would resort to such tactics.
I will never recommend this complex to even my worst enemies, and I will take this to a small claims court. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place!
