Pros:
*Cheap rent
* Nice/Safe area and proximity to lots of amenities (grocery stores, drug stores, restaurants, uptown)
*Grounds and Apartments are maintained very
well
*Office Staff / Maintenace is very pleasant & prompt to respond to requests
Cons:
*Property is located right next to railroad (train comes faithfully every morning around 4 or 5)
* Lots of bugs during the summer (water bugs/ Cockroaches and other critters). Sometimes they do enter the apartments but not as bad as ...
outside.
*Sometimes could smell smoke inside my unit from other adjoining unit(s)...it didn't happen often but when it did it was annoying (I'm obviously not a smoker)
*Apartments are outdated inside (hence the cheap rent) BUT they are clean and well maintained
*On site laundry facility was not maintained to my liking so I use an off site laundromat across town.
*A/C blows cold but loud
Overall I would recommend The Chimneys. You get great value for the price. The pros definitely outweigh the cons.

Such a great place to live! I lived here for a little over a year. The management is so friendly and helpful. I always felt safe in the area too. The only reason I would give it 4 stars is based on the inconvenience of not having a washer/dryer in unit. Other than that, it is definitely worth 5 stars!

The Chimneys is BY FAR the most unprofessional business that I have ever worked with. Sure, the rent is incredibly cheap, but its not worth it AT ALL. The staff is rude and frequently leaves before the closing time posted online- this causes an issue for people like myself that work long hours and cannot get to the leasing office before the close. Maintenance does not follow through-- I currently have had a gaping mildewy hole in my bathtub that I was told was going to be fixed three weeks ago ...
and have called about multiple times since. When calling into the call center the representatives is short-tempered, sarcastic, and rude, and the last person I spoke with blatantly lied to me TWICE. The higher management is just as terrible. I had an issue with my rent and I called to complain and all I received back was a snarky email about how I would be evicted and taken to court if I paid late again (I paid late by ONE day, ONE time). The outdoor lighting is terrible and the neighborhood is completely unsafe. The apartment itself is in terrible condition, lead paint on the walls, roaches, and flickering lights. It reeks of cigarette smoke and bleach from people being allowed to smoke in the units. I can vividly hear my neighbors arguing and doing the dirty thought the paper thin walls. Living here was the biggest mistake I have ever made... If I would not have to keep paying until the apartment is filled, I would break my lease. I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THE CHIMNEYS TO ANYONE. BEWARE.

The Property managers is very helpful and the office emploees are very friendly. The landscape is taken care of, it really is nice.Maintenace keeps things in working order. If you have to put in a work order they take care of it immediately. Property is well taken care of.

The maintenance staff is friendly, quick to respond and provides great work. I went to visit this complex and found no one in the office. Stayed in lobby over 15 min and still no one showed. Property looked well kept but couldn't tell because no one showed me around. I think during office hours there should always be someone in the office.

today i went in to view the property, the lady that gave me a tour was very friendly, she spoke highly of the management company and the property itself. the apartment was very nice and very afforadable. the apartment was very nice. i was really impressed with what i saw today.
