I have been a resident at Essex City Centre since 2019, prior to the pandemic, and my experience living here has always been quite pleasant. However, I must express a few concerns that have arisen since that time. During the pandemic, the leasing office understandably closed its doors, allowing only one resident at a time to enter for any matters related to their tenancy. Now that the world has largely returned to normal, it appears that the leasing office has permanently closed. To reach ...
anyone, one must contact the Essex number, which can be quite frustrating. Moreover, the office staff seems to have lost their previous level of dedication and accessibility, as they are frequently working remotely and proving difficult to reach. The leasing office building, in addition to its office space, also features a recreational room that is funded by all residents. Unfortunately, despite this financial contribution, residents have been denied access to this facility. Additionally, rent has actually increased rather than reflecting the current limitations on amenities. City Centre advertises itself as a safe community with onsite security in the evenings, but regrettably, this is not the reality. Griffin Protection Services, the contracted security company, is nowhere to be found unless specifically called upon, and even then, their response can be delayed or nonexistent. This lack of security presence has resulted in incidents such as car break-ins and disturbances during the community's designated quiet hours. Furthermore, the unnumbered parking spots that residents pay for are consistently occupied by vehicles without valid parking permits, forcing us to park on the street outside the gated community. It is worth mentioning that we chose to reside in a gated community specifically to avoid this inconvenience. These issues could easily be remedied through increased staff presence and monitoring. As it stands, however, I must express my deep disappointment with Essex City Centre.
