Best place to live if you’re a Roach
July 9, 2024Been living here 4 years. I was the only person living on the top floor. So I guess the infestation took awhile for them to get to us full force. ——————warning—————————- DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU ARE DESPERATELY NEED A PLACE TO STAY. Unable to have any utensils, pots, pans, water glass, food items in cabinets or food EVEN in freezer or fridge! Deep cleaning the entire kitchen -it will take less than two days for roach droppings to appear AGAIN! Roach bait does not work because they will ...infest your garbage trash for food and scraps. They will trap you in a lease where you have to give two months notice to terminate. Also will force you to renew two - three months BEFORE your lease ends. SO if you do find a place you will be stuck paying here as well as your new place. ( I am not a native PA, other state tenants would only have to give notice 28 days to 30 days prior to end of lease.) Roaches love water pipes and the pipes here are old and leaking. Took them four years to actually take my leak seriously. My poor neighbors downstairs had to have their entire ceiling replaced before it started to leak AGAIN. Because they told us our leak wasn’t “Serious”. (Every-time you take a shower the side of the tub would leak into the floor boards.) Really crazy how rent went up two to three times here. And they will still tell you that YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR AN EXTERMINATOR! Also pay on top of that carpet cleaners to shampoo the carpet before you leave with a receipt for proof. The heater had a four inch uncovered gap exposed to the outside of the apartments. WOW! All my heat/air conditioning was escaping probably doubling my bill that year. All the roaches and spiders to easily entered in through there! I was shocked! I also had two mice try and make a home out of my place but I had my cat take care of that. Unlucky for those who don’t have cats to fend off these mice. There is maybe hope for tenants here with new ownership coming soon at the end of summer 2024!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
