An affordable, yet overall happy and peaceful place
July 25, 2015Cypress House Apts is a really nice little area. It's gated, so always feels a little safer. On-site laundry is super convenient, parking in-gate, overall calm and quiet (there have been kids running around enjoying life during the summer, but generally the noise isn't a problem). The rooms are nice too. They aren't perfect, I have to admit; jenky bathroom window, some messed up paint here or there, kitchen drawers that stick sometimes. But for the price (which is now $1134/month), it's really ...nice. Also right off Jackson St., right next to the highway, so it's convenient transport to anywhere you need to go. The main thing that might concern people is the next-door run-down apartments that somehow burned down. Homeless people seem to live in there temporarily (until the renovations are done, I assume), but they come and go without any harassment of anyone. It's Hayward, it's to be expected that you'll find some grungy kind of folk here and there. The main thing that sucks for me personally is that utilities are not paid for, which can be a bit of a heavy hit. But even so, the cost comes out to less than most apartment complexes you'll find out there. The manager was also a great guy, but unfortunately he recently passed away, so we'll see what the new management brings.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
