Somewhat misleading information
July 27, 2019I use to manage the Woodlands and the Devonwood Apartments when they were one whole community called The Woodlands. That was well over 30 years ago, but I find it odd that the Devonwood calls a one bedroom one bath apartment with a den (The Barksdale) a "two" bedroom apartment. Unless the building codes have changed, a bedroom must contain a closet. I may be wrong, but we always listed the Barksdale as a one bedroom, one bath with a den just as neighboring The Woodlands does now – they ...currently called it “The Wren”. It's the same floor plan. It just seems one property is telling the truth and the other is being a bit misleading. If the floor plan at either property suits you - fine, but I do find the description by one property somewhat misleading. I've been in property management for over 40 years and believe what you sell should be the truth.Property Manager Responded

Just Move In
October 27, 2018I Move In Today. The Apartment was beautiful as I walk in but once I looked inside the freezer and the refrigerator it had dead maggots inside & was dirty, the cabinets has spiders and webs & the bathroom sink was alil dirty. Wish they full cleaned the apartment before moving me in. But the staff was great. Cleanness should be their number one priority.Review from Apartments.com

October 23, 2017A month ago I decided along with my fiance to make Devonwood into our home. October 18, 2017 was our move in date. As the day came we were told to bring our deposit and they would go on from there. Once the lease was signed off and were given the keys we were surprised by what we encountered inside the unit. The moment we stepped in we saw roaches everywhere. Not only that but the apartment was clearly not ready for our arrival. The main entrance wall had fresh wet paint, the wall in the master ...had what seems to be red crayon marks, a dirty ear swab, the cabinets were not fully closing, the fridge smelled like as if something was decomposing, and the shelves were on the verge of breaking into half. Also in our arrival we saw a lady cleaning the apartment but did not procede with her routine once she saw us. She left the toilet with urine and hairs in the tub. As soon as we saw the conditions of the apartment, we reported the roaches the same day of our move in. The next day they sent someone to exterminate and later that night more roaches were crawling out of the carpet and holes from the wall. At that point I was disappointed because they gave us a apartment that was not move in ready with a month of knowing in advance. I gave them the apartment keys and kindly asked to have the lease terminated with no consequence because I could not bring my new furniture into a place that was not ready. She suggested to moving us into a new unit but I refused because it would be fixing the problem that they should have resolved before it got to this point. She also suggested to exterminate everyday but I explained to her I have asthma and would basically have to live in a hotel because I can not be in that environment. Today, 10/23/2017 I called to let them know I want my deposit and prorated rent without being responsible of the rent since i'm not the one who is to be held accountable for their negligenceRead MoreReview from Apartments.com

October 4, 2015Hi my name is Dee Martinez I been living at the (Casabella) aka also know as the Devonwoods Apartments Homes now .. I been here since the end of Oct 2012 to present I love it here the area has a bad reputation for high crimes ect... But to be quite honest I feel very safe my neighbors are amazing and the office staff are too . I never had a problem here regardless of the area and reputation this apartment has ...I really feel at home here.. My first place here in Charlotte. .is sad that now I ...have too move out I'm so bummed out about it because they raised my rent too much and is over my budget at this present time in my life .
