About Elks Apartments
We are breathing life back into a historic building. Elks Lodge number 186 was founded in Olympia in 1891, on the heels of Washington statehood. Members included prominent businessmen and state officials. Originally meeting in the McKenny Building, the current building was erected in 1919 with a design by Olympias preeminent architect Joseph Wohleb. Wohleb was at the height of his career and influence at this time. This imposing four-story building attests to the influence and importance of social clubs in the early decades of the 20th Century. A large panel at the roofline reminds us of the buildings original use, reading BPO Elks 186. The lodge moved to a new building on Fourth Avenue in 1960 or 1961, and then to its current location near Ralphs Thriftway.

Great Place to Live
June 4, 2024They have made so many changes to this building! The maintenance has improved and it shows!! We have lived here for 6 months and the changes and improvements keep happening. We are ever so grateful for the management team for taking our concerns and suggestions seriously and the changes show. Yeah, no
October 4, 2022I lived here for 3 years and…. It was an experience. I had my downstairs neighbor deface my door because the floors and walls were paper thin and I dared to walk around my apartment, the roof caved in in my neighbor’s unit which was on the same floor as mine, and we used to watch the rats dance around the back area. Also the washers and dryers were coin operated. On the plus side, my place had great views and the staff there were nice! Don't live here.
April 2, 2021This was the worst apartment I've ever lived in. Walls and ceiling are paper thin, you hear every words your neighbor speaks. The hallways are always dirty and dark. The dryer is constantly catching on fire. Screaming from the homeless in the ally and dirty needles on the ground. The background door to the building is always open. And don't forget the maintenance guy never answers calls, texts or maintenance requests. Your better off living somewhere else.Review from Apartments.com
